If you are not satisfied with the answers that your doctor is providing, then you should see another doctor. You can research Radiculopathy on the Internet. The term describes the symptoms. It is not a diagnosis all by itself. Something is causing this and it's probably nerve damage in your back.
Did your doctor prescribe steroids? Trying to aleviate your symptoms with medication alone would be the first logical step.

A good Chiropractor can give you a simple adjustment to relieve the pressure on the problem nerve.
It is a painless, inexpensive treatment and you will feel better very quickly.
I have gone to Chiropractors for 60 years (for migraines as a child ) and any other structural problem I have.
Good luck.

Whatever may it be; pl don't waste time, health and money in wandering behind doctors.
It is a locomotor disorder and there is no other effective treatment than ACUPUNCTURE for that class as well as pain(pain & paralysis).
Massage and sunbath will also help.
If you can pl see a YOG teacher, that can help you lot throughout your life.

Get your Dr. to refer you to a neurologist so he can do a complete exam on your back, then they can prescribe either meds or physical therapy, what ever you need to make the situation better. But it never hurts to get a second opinion.
