Apparently, liberals (such as myself) are supposed to be recruiting gay people. I didn't know I was supposed to do this.

In fact, I didn't even know it was possible.

Could some of you liberals who are doing things right please tutor me so I can begin making straight people fall into the sin of being ostracized by society?

What are the selling points? Can I mention fashion sense?

Paulo, I'm sorry you find this mean spirited, but I think it is plain old hysterical that people actually believe there is a vast conspiracy to "turn people gay." I know as well as you do that that is simply not how it works. Who someone else falls in love with is none of my damned business and the same rules apply for these TV preachers who try to blame the media because God or whoever made someone fall in love with someone they don't agree with. So yes, I am making fun of that thinking.

Not only have I not done that, I've never even told a gay person they should come out of their closet. I figure it's totally a matter of privacy.

It does lead to one important problem, however. I've been a f@g hag for a long time, and now I've moved to a new city. I joined the Ethical Society, and there's several guys there I figure might be gay. But I can't just walk up to them and say, "By the way, guys, I'd like to know how to bust into the gay scene and be a f@g hag again." So . . . gets pretty lonely. That's the only thing wrong with closets, but I can't blame any guy in Missouri for keeping quiet.

I have the same problem, as a straight male no less.

Amazing that leaps of faith lead to leaps from logic. Some people are just born to follow whatever their Maximum Leaders tell them via AM talk radio.

I thought you guys stopped doing that back in the '80's. Darn - and I gave away my best flaming torch.

I am a Gay Conservative Christian - about as lonely a demographic as ever there was one - and nobody recruited me....for either side.

(EDIT: Creatrix - thank you for your kind explanation and additional details. I think I over-reacted somewhat, I'm sorry!)
