In my dreams, whenever I'm about to die, i wake up. Also, in my dreams, whenever i do something that i should die (like falling from great heights) i do not die, but i wake up shortly after.
Do u always wake up before u die?

I had a nightmare the other night, first one i had in a few years. The nightmare happened while i was in my house and there was my back door open. I looked around and saw a man crouching down behind something. I pointed at him and he came over with a weapon and just before he killed me, i woke up. I know it was a dream, and im 15, but how come i'm still kinda scared. I know it can't happen cause i live in a peacefull town but it could happen...
why does this happen to me?

Die
To dream that you die in your dream, symbolizes inner changes, transformation, self-discovery and positive development that is happening within you or in your life. Although such a dreams may bring about feelings of fear and anxiety, it is no cause for alarm and is often considered a positive symbol. Dreams of experiencing your own death usually means that big changes are ahead for you. You are moving on to new beginnings and leaving the past behind. These changes does not necessarily imply a negative turn of events. Metaphorically, dying can be seen as an end or a termination to your old ways and habits. So, dying does not always mean a physical death, but an ending of something.

On a negative note, to dream that you die may represent involvement in deeply painful relationships or unhealthy, destructive behaviors. You may feeling depressed or feel strangled by a situation or person in your waking life. Perhaps your mind is preoccupied with someone who is terminally ill or dying. Alternatively, you may be trying to get out of some obligation, responsibility or other situation.

I think that while nightmares are completely fictional, and not related to the future, they are linked to what sticks in your subconscious. Nightmares rarely happen in a place you have never been and they are often triggered by something that you have seen/done in the hours before you fell asleep.
maybe you looked at your back door before going to bed, or you watched a tv program about an intruder in someones house?
I also find that i wake up from my dreams/nightmares just before the most dramatic point of the dream, like death for example. I think this is because the point when you dream is when you're in very light sleep, so maybe the surge in emotion is enough to wake someone up- this could be elation or excitement, or indeed fear or pain.

I've had dreams where I'm about to die and wake up before it happens. I do it all the time. I have died in a few of my dreams also. I'm still alive and kickin. Don't sweat the bad dream, sweetie. We all have dreams like that. I think my worst dream happened when I was pregnant with my first kid. I had a dream that there was an intruder in the house while I was in bed. He came into the bedroom, raped me, and pardon for being graphic about the next part, pulled my baby out from my hoohoo. I woke up sweating bullets and called my husband, who worked nights at the time. It scared the crap out of me. But like I said, it's ok for the bad dream, just a normal part of the psyche. Lots of luck to you.

They say if you die in a dream, you die in real life. That's why you wake up or you jerk yourself awake. Like if your falling down a cliff or out of a car in your dreams, you will wake up. My mom had a dream one time and someone in her dream said "it's time to go" and she said "no" and she woke up. I kind of believe that, because I've ALWAYS woken up before hitting the bottom of a cliff, or flying off somewhere. Usually I just wake up because I have to go to the bathroom, or at least that's what I tell myself.

it is said that if u die in a dream, you die in real life. so i guess the fact that you dont die can be taken as a good sign lol. i would say that you have some stuff that your concious has to deal with so that ur subconsious doesnt need to. are you worried about anything major? it could help if u dealt with this in concious life as opposed to your dreams.

and dreams arent always just dreams.

When you dream of this kind of dreams. its means your mind is not ready to deal with this kind of dream so it alarms you by waking you up. Cause it's not your time in life. Some people will die in there dreams cause it was there time. God only knows.
