but honestly I never saw the point in such things. whatever moves you are learning there is so much going on below the surface that can't be explained by a foto or an animation. the only way to learn is by the guidance of a teacher and practice, practice, practice

I agree with the previous poster.

If you are a beginner, watch some aikido videos on youtube, read the etiquette (important) or read about aikido in general.

Nobody should expect you to know any moves if you go there as a beginner. There are many web pages about aikido, many of them also emphasising that what they write is thoughts about aikido but you should simply go to trainings and learn there.

You can't. A proper Aikido training requires students to learn basic gross body movements like tai sabaki and breakfalls or ukemi as preparation for learning Aikido techniques. You can't just learn a technique and skip the basics. That's like learning to eat a steak even though you still haven't grown any teeth yet. My advice is to try doing stamina and endurance exercises in preparation for your training instead, since you're gonna need those to make it thru a proper Aikido session( I can only speak for Hombu Affiliated Aikido dojos, not for Ki-Aikido or the other variant schools). The best way to start learning Aikido is to not have any preconceived notions about what Aikido training is and is not, just keep an open mind while listening to your sensei's instruction. And try to leave your ego outside the dojo, that way you'll learn faster.

Aikido is not so much about what you can do when you are prepared, but more about who you are when you are unprepared.
Do not anticipate your training, be open and listen to the whispers of the aiki okami.
But, to try to answer your question, there really isn't much out there in terms of material for soto keiko (outside training, or viewing of the form from the third person) that is free (i.e. $). If I were you I'd find some DVD on ukemi and get the old B&W films of the late Saito sensei for good solid kihon nage waza.
Congratulations on beginning your Aikido journey.

The whole point of training is to learn not to already be proficient.

LEARNING AIKIDO FROM A WEBSITE IS A BAD IDEA:
You will not have an instructor to correct you and may end up learning bad habits which are very hard to correct, trust me I know.

You cannot understand the internal movements by study computer generated images.

You will only push yourself so far, you need someone (a teacher) who will push you farther.
