I work in a very conservative environment, and swearing would be unacceptable there, so I'd have to say yes.

However, in several other workplaces I've been in, it hasn't been an issue.

As a general rule, why swear if you can avoid it?

But, if it's common in your workplace it's probably OK.

Watch what others do, and follow suit, but still, hold off on swearing in front of customers, older staff members or management, just to be on the safe side!

Cheers :-)

Yes. I think it is not only inappropriate, but VERY unprofessional to swear at work. A lot of people still take offense to bad language, so it is disrespectful and inappropriate to swear in front of them.

I think it's bad manners to swear anywhere. (Not saying I've never done it but it is bad manners/disrespectful to those around you).

Depends on where you work. I work at Jet's Pizza (simply the best pizza around) and we swear all the time. But in the office it would depend on the atmosphere or who you were with.

Well generally yes..badmouthing at worksite is usually foul, however it depends where you work...I mean if you are a white collar-job or a blue-collar job,,,I believe it is but decent to have a standard language at work for white collar jobs,, but for the collar-jobs I don't think they mind it so much...don't you think so?However,I believe swearing is so unprofessional and indecent.

If you are with guys, I don't see too much of a problem, especially if they are swearing too. Don't do it if there are women around. Most men wouldn't like that. Personally, unless you feel its absolutely necessary, then I wouldn't

Yes it is, i know sometimes the stresses of work can be relentless. However, you might want to stay away from swearing at work.

its unprofessional, particually if customers overhear it... but then it all depends where you work,... if you were a shift worker say just doing stock around people you knew though the job and were cool with it, then im sure its fine... just wouldent do it to an excessive amount, and be weary about who is around who could be offended by it.... dont swear around bosses also, unless they do it first.
