They fear what they cannot understand.
Not helped by some forms of spirituality who encourages this fear.

People generally fear the unknown and unexperienced. Even something we're sure is going to be exciting and fun, but we've never actually experienced it, we naturally feel apprehensive, possibly even a perverse dread.
Culturally, we are far removed from death. We're obsessed with being forever young. We treat the elderly and sick with disdain and disrespect. We don't deal with dying or dead people at all if we can help it. Americans, where I grew up, preserve bodies and put makeup on dead people to make them look like they are merely sleeping so afraid are they. We refuse to see death as a natural end to physical existence, and when forced to face it feel fear and dread. Many fear annihilation and refuse to accept their own mortality even in the throes of dying.

People fear death beacuse they feel always there are somethings wrong inside them, they always don't want to face.
Death have a great maxim due to its great events.
Death means that your current life is out and you ahve to take the retribution for what you did along it, then be ready for the next life which is either PARADISE (for those worship only Allah ) or HELL (for those deny).
This is like when you take an important exam for your life future - of course you will be worry and care to get high score. You are always know how you answer the questions and want to improve your level continiously - This is just in an exam.
What about all of your life?
It claims to act good and right to get the highest score.

i believe that people fear death because death is the unknown.everybody fears the unknown.nobody can describe what's death like, how you feel after that, and that kind of stuff.and so,death remains something undiscovered.i think that it causes more fear when death is close to you, because you don't know what's gonna happen to you next.
one of my teachers, used to say that death is like you're in an unknown room and your eyes are tied.you can listen to some strange noises, but you don't know where they come from or what causes them.so,even if the thing that causes the noises is tiny,in your imagination, you might create something huge and scary...and that causes fear...

Different people fear death because of different reasons.
Some fear it because they don't know where they're going after death and some are just hesitant to leave their beloved earth.
Some people fear death cause they don't know whether they are going to heaven or hell.
Some people aren't just prepared and they are scared to be gone forever. They want to stay on earth and be happy and carefree.
For me, death is not something be scared of but something to be prepared for cause we could never escape it.

It is the fear of the unknown. The fear that we will never do things we love and see persons we love. The fear of being in a situation that is not familiar to us. Will it be worst where we go? The fear that we will stop exist. The fear of never again...

I personally dont fear death itself. I just fear what will happen to those i leave behind. I guess it can be a scary thought because we have no idea what happens.

Because it is the fear of the unknown.... we all usually feel a little scared or worried going into something that is unknown even personally to us, wether it be starting a new job, school, having a baby, getting married.... but death is the untimate unventured territory and it it human nature i beleive to be a little scared/worried/unsure about this step.

Fear of the unknown is a major part of it. Those with religious beliefs tend not to fear death as much as those of the "worm food" school of thought.
I tend not to focus on death as I'm currently busy being alive.

Because of ignorance and false teaching. Especiially the one about eternal hellfire. A false teaching from the Catholic church.
Hell/Hades is not even a permanent place. Rev. 20;14.
It is associated with death and is simply man's grave.
When we die, we are as if we are asleep.
(Psalm 13:3) Do look [upon me]; answer me, O Jehovah my God. Do make my eyes shine, that I may not fall asleep in death,
Match this with ;
(Ecclesiastes 9:5-6) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten. 6Â Also, their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished, and they have no portion anymore to time indefinite in anything that has to be done under the sun.
And you have no action in the grave...
So no ghosts. Or hauntings.
So what do people see???
They are demons acting as dead people.../and should be avoided.....by not having anything to do with seances and such.
