Sadly, coldsores are not curable as they are a strain of Herpes. There are many treatments available to aid the symptoms and these must be used at the first indication of the Herpes flaring up. You can only relieve the symptoms but can't cure the disease. However, by keeping yourself healthy and fit, you should have less problems as Herpes has a habit of flaring up when a person is ill with other things or just generally ran down, low on energy etc. Coldsores tend to be more of a problem in winter months as that is when most people are not feeling too good and colds / flus weaken the immunity system. As winter is drawing in, the best you can do is speak to a pharmacist and get some cream that will limit the effects of the Herpes. It won't stop a coldsore but can reduce the physical appearance that coldsores create.

There are prescribed medications and herbal supplements. For a natural treatment buy Turmeric 300 mg capsules. I haven't tried the ones from stores like Walmart. I use only health food stores for the Solaray brand. Take 2 daily as preventative therapy. The only interactions with drugs I know of are with anticoagulants, immunosuppressants and NSAIDS. Usually an increased risk of bleeding. I use turmeric for cancer prevention ( it prevents oral, esophageal, stomach, colon, breast and skin cancers) and I haven't had a cold sore in 15 years.

You can also get a cream over the counter to use on cold sores called Abreva. It wont stop the cold sore, but really makes healing faster and helps with the pain.

unfortunately, it's not curable. you can get a vitamin suppliment that is high in vitamin c, lycopene, and zinc which are supposed to boost your immunity and minimise breakouts. i know, everyone says it, but speak to your gp and see what suppressants they can offer, and what other advice they have.
