I have the greatest admiration for our missionaries who spread he word of God.

I support our Missionaries by doing things such as feeding them, giving them lifts to their destinations, praying for them, inviting them into our home for spiritually uplifting activities and by being a missionary myself and helping them to spread the word.

I belong to no Church but I have supported some missionary work. The last time was a mission by the Mennonites here.
They were sending people to New Orleans to help with disaster relief.
Even as an atheist there are some causes that deserve support and I find the humanitarian missions of the United and the Mennonite Churches are often very good causes to support. The Mennonites are almost as effective as the atheist and secular charities in getting help to where it is needed, even if they are not quite as cost efficient.

I dont care whether he spread the word or not, as long as those in need gets help, i'd give him my support

you mean, the people who indoctrinate the children, the uneducated, and the weak-minded? I would never support them in any way.
I would only support the people who care about the poor, the sick, and the dying, and orphanages. but never the people who pretend to look after people's welfare but have a hidden agenda in mind of indoctrinating people.
