To many people believe this as I just seen on a question.

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

If your gonna believe in God than believe in His word, that right there is His word. He tells us that your works do not get you saved from eternal damnation. Being a good person is not it people, follow thishttp://av1611.com/kjbp/salvation.html

I am not saying you shouldn't do good works, but works alone will not get you there. For those that are saved, our works will be judged on judgement day.

Never in our lives can good works get us into Heaven.

We get to Heaven not by our performance,awards,money..e.t.c.,but by the righteousness of faith which is Jesus.

By believing Jesus is our Lord and Savior, repenting for our sins and walking the road that Jesus walked,we can get to Heaven.

Good works don't get us to Heaven, they're what we do unconditionally for thanking Jesus for His sacrific.

God Bless.

God decides who will go to Heaven. We have no right asking questions about what a person does or does not do in order to get to Heaven. Some people sacrifice their whole life to look after others who are ill.Jesus said "whatever you do to the least of my people, you do to me".The most important requirement is love.If there is someone you do not love, then you do not love God. God loves everybody unconditionally with no exceptions and he wants us to do the same.Jesus and Mary have been appearing to people over the last couple of hundred years and have told us what to do.But 99.9% of Christians refuse to belive in these apparitions.
Sr. Faustina was asked by Jesus in 1931 to proclaim to the world a new gift,an amnesty for mankind,a way to become new Christians, cleansing our souls of all past sins and obtaining complete remission of all punishment,by appealing to Our Father, through the passion and merciful love of Jesus.Jesus told her "Mankind will not have peace until it turns with trust to my mercy".

Now before you write this off as complete nonsense and an impossibly because it is not in the Bible, just consider that things have happened after the Bible was written and if you accept the Bible as the word of God and all you have is faith, then why cant Jesus actually appear and talk to someone about how we should live and be saved. These are new requests from Jesus, which makes the Bible reduntant .He has changed the rules on how we are to live .Satan is still in control until we return to God. After all ,God,being God can do anything, cant he?

EDIT ...Baptist..please don't send me an email protesting about my answer.I know what i am talking about.

The Bible is referring to "works for God," and not good deeds on earth. Some people strive to work hard for the Lord but do not put their lives in our Lord's hands. They look and work for something in the wrong manor. Doing for others is a great earthly feeling. Doing the works of God is a spiritual feeling if you are doing what the Lord is telling you to do.
Did you read my question about "obey"? Read my questions and answer it please. The message is so true.

Not at all, but the will to do good works is a natural product of true faith. That's what James was trying to say in Chapter 2.

Someone who SAYS they have faith, but has no NATURAL desire to do charitable deeds for mankind is not living their faith. Their faith is most likely false and in vain.

They talk the talk, but don't walk the walk.

Works justify faith, but doing works to "prove" you are a "good Christian" doesn't fool God for a nanosecond.

PS, thumbs down won't change what is written in the book of James =) These are not my words, they are from an apostle of Christ. You're giving James a thumbs down when you disagree with his clear message.

God bless!

No we are all saved by grace, by simply believing in our our hearts that Jesus as our Lord and Savior. After we are saved we do good works to earn rewards in heaven. Jesus told us to build treasures in heaven. But our works will be judged, if their are judged to be wood, hay and straw they will be rejected. But if they are judged to be gold, silver or precious stones we will be rewarded. It is a matter of whether it is by our own might or power or by the Spirit. Jesus said unless we abide in Him we can do nothing of value to His kingdom.

The key of paradise is the eternal word:

La Ilah Ila Allah - There is No God But Allah

"Ash hadu an la ilaha ill Allah wa ash hadu anna Muhammadar Rasul Allah."

"I declare there is no god but Allah and I declare that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah."

Allah does not accept any associates with Him, Allah accepts to only worship Him.

From Qura'n, the last and complete words of Allah: We have, without doubt, sent down the Message; and We will assuredly guard it (from corruption).

No.

I think good works help people and take steps to making the world better. People who boast about them are tiresome.

Thats one thing I really love about the religious. So you are basically saying don't be good to your fellow man just believe in god? And Christians wonder why the non religious have a problem with them?
