Are we making a mistake by fighting diseases? Is it possible that some countries are not actively fighting AIDS because they are using it (or letting it) to decrease the population?

Disease is one of natures ways of controlling population. So is starvation. Humans have a conscience and so we try to help those that are weak and vulnerable in society unlike other animals. The result of this is overpopulation due to fewer infant deaths and longer life expectancy. I wouldn't go so far as to say that it is a mistake to fight the diseases though.

There are countries that use disease to eliminate or reduce the "unwanted" segments of their population. This is a form of genocide that can easily be denied.

Yes, it is. It is simply one of the many ways of natures control to stay at Carrying Capacity (CC). Starvation and Malnutrition are also two other ways. We as humans however artificially sustain ourselves way above carrying capacity. However the problem with the AIDS epidemic is that it is a lack of knowledge that leads to it being an epidemic. I'm sure some people are ignoring it to decrease the population, but others are seeing it and trying to do something about it.

I think overpopulation makes diseases worse. Not fighting a disease could be considered genocide though. Not fighting Aids is stupid becuase it takes the young and the strong not the old and weak.

Yes it is, nature has its own checks and balances. Humans should take a cue from this and actively work on controlling population not let the disease play uncontrolled havoc.

I don't think fighting diseases are the way to go. Have you ever considered the human race still has no real effective cure for the common cold?
I think that we as humans are vulnerable to any type of diseases.

Get a grip. Next thing you'll be promoting war as a means to accomplish the same goal.

I don't think so.I don't agree i don't think any country will want to do that.,they may not have the resources to have that as a priority area cause they have other pressing issues to direct their resources to.
