I do believe in God, but i'm not up to date on my bible studies. What i'd like to know is why so many Christians pray to Jesus in the place of God, why is that?...is He God's son? or is He God? I can never understand it because I get different explanations from different people.

Jesus is God's Son but he is also God and he is also Man , let me explain ...

God is the Trinity . This means that God is three persons , but still one God . It's kind of like a triangle . You can't have one side existing without the other two . The Trinity is God the Father , God the Son ( Jesus ) , and God the Holy Spirit

The only difference between God the Father and Jesus is that Jesus came down to Earth as a human and died for all our sins to save us ( later he ressurects from the dead )

So they are the same but in different forms

Depends on who you may ask. I'm not Christian, so I don't pray to Jesus. I believe in God, and pray directly to God only. I can't speak for Christians, but when Christians pray to God it's probably because Christians believe that Jesus is God (Trinity), the Son of God, or both.

There is one God. When God created man he said, Let us make man in our image. God referred to himself as us, thus establishing that there were distinct personalities within the one Godhead. Us is a pronoun just like I is a pronoun. Us means two or more. Jesus told his followers to baptize in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. He did not say in the names, but in the name, singular. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. Through him were all things created and by him do all things consist. The Word became flesh and lived among us. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, but his own did not receive him. But as many as receive him, to them he gives the authority to become children of God, even to them who believe on his name. There are three who bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit, and these three are one. If we receive the record of men, the record of God is greater. This is the record of God which he has testified of his Son, that God has given us eternal life and that life is in his Son. He that has the Son has life, but he that has not the Son does not have eternal life. He who has the Son, has the Father, but he who does not have the Son, does not have the Father either.

God the Father dwells in unapproachable Light, NO MAN has ever seen the Father.

Jesus Christ is the "Son", He is God in Human flesh... all of the interactions between man & God, have been either with Jesus Christ pre-incarnate, (before He was born of a woman) or after Mary gave birth to Him.

The Holy Spirit is God, He works in many various ways.

The three are ONE GOD.

Some "simplistic" explainations that are fairly good:

The Egg: Shell, White, Yolk = One egg.

The Light bulb: The glass portion, the Light itself, and the Power (electricity) = One Light bulb

The Cube: Lenght, Height, Width = One Cube

The Universe itself: Space, time, Matter = One Universe

Time itself: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow = One Day

Hope that helps?!
So happy to hear that your "seeking" to know Jesus Christ & that your studying His Word! May the Lord God reveal His Truth to you as you continue that "path" of Righteousness.

Its pretty blurred between religions, in christianity jesus is son of God and so people should pray to jesus to give a message to God.

and you will continue to get a different explanation from all kinds of people. I can only tell you what the LDS church believes in and you'll have to ponder and could even pray to see if its true. God is our eternal father, His son Jesus Christ was chosen to come to this earth to be a savior to all mankind from the beginning. Christ suffered to take upon himself all the sins of the world that the price would be paid and all could have the opportunity to return to our Father in heaven if we would repent. None of us are perfect and need Christs atonement to cleanse us from our sins. We believe you can pray to god, in the name of Jesus Christ, and by the power of the Holy Ghost we can recieve a witness that he lives and hears our prayers. Having faith is so important and trusting that god can answer your prayers will be such a blessing for you. My prayer goes out to you.

God is the father of Jesus Christ and God is also the Father for every creation. we pray and ask Jesus for help because when God asked who will go on earth to deliver ppl from their sin nobody volunteered but Jesus asked God to send him and he came and was tortured crucified and died for us to be saved

We are all sinners & we are supposed to pray in jesus name since Jesus paid the price 4 us we aren't worthy to talk to God so we pray to Jesus who is like a mediator since we are sinful.
