Im seeing pink for the cure products everywhere, so Im sure by now there must be TONS of money for this cause. Im just wondering what sort of impact this is having, are we any closer to finding a cure? or is the majority of this money going towards breast cancer awareness?

Because I am aware that people get brest cancer, but I dont know why they get it, how to prevent it, or anything about it..I never hear about any of that.

Also, is breast cancer the only kind of cancer that doesnt have a cure yet, or is it the only one they decided to market? It seems unfair to put so much money into one illness, and not any others?

There are quite a few cancers that aren't readily curable. Perhaps one reason that breast cancer gets additional attention is because it strikes more people than most other cancers. Another reason is that there are some things that women can do that will reduce the chances of dying from breast cancer if it strikes them - things like regular mammograms. That way, if they do develop breast cancer, it's detected at an early stage and treatment is much more likely to be successful.

Prostate cancer, lung cancer, and colon cancer also get additional attention for the same two reasons.

Although other cancers like pancreatic cancer are far deadlier, there aren't any effective screenings for them. So it makes sense to spend money on educating people on what they can screen for. Also pancreatic cancer doesn't affect as many people as the other cancers listed above so that might be another reason why it doesn't get as much attention.

They are mostly raising awareness for breast cancer and some money does go to finding a cure, 13000 women and 100 men are diagnosed with breast cancer in Australia every year, the raise awareness so people can check themselves and know what to look for, early detection is the best way to beat the battle.

No there is NO CURE for most cancers!!!!
