Jesus said "Mat 10:22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved. "

In my case, it is certainly not hatred. Some fundamentalists are greatly misinformed about the Catholic Faith, and I merely try to correct them. More extreme fundamentalists go so far as to say that Catholics are not Christians, and we will be damned to hell for following a false gospel. Accordingly, most informed Catholics respond in kind to such nonsense.

Just because we are on a different spiritual path from you doesn't mean that our souls are "lost." I find that terminology very strange.

When you proselytize, you are the one who are giving out the hatred and disdain towards others and their beliefs. You shouldn't then be surprised if it rolls back towards you when those people disagree with you and defend their beliefs.

Hey lady, look, believe in the Bible any way you want. But like I said before, the reason why people don't like fundies is because there are a fair number of fundies shoving their beliefs down other people's throats.

That and most fundies have a rather annoying definition of 'saved'.

Are you kidding me? I am a Christian, and I know better than that. We are just to make the word of God available to people, share with them what it is and then the choice is theirs. To many go around and force it on others. They never give up or stop talking about it. We just have to make sure they know that the bible is good, and is God's Word. Then they need to make up their own mind as to whether or not to accept it and follow it. Free will. That's how it works, never force it on others but let them know what you are and set a good example. Then things will be better for all. =)

Well I do not need to be 'saved' and I do not what your infiltration of our schools to spread your nonsense. If you keep yourself to yourself - fine but thats it.

I had enough when I was teaching. I was trying to get a A level group to understand the scientific method and this 'fundy' boy just kept on about how it was all bo**** and all anyone needed to do was read the bible. Why was he doing a science subject i do not know.

Imagine you are being constantly harrased by Jews to convert or forever burn in hell. They say everything you belive in is wrong even they provide no good reasons other than "you will burn in hell" to convert. They call you a sinner for eating ham, and they call you unclean and you're persecuted at your school or workplace. Now all the Jews think you're a heathen and don't want anything to do with you. They continue with their preaching, but you can feel their hatred towards you.

Not nice, is it? How about take some of your lord Jesus' advice, and "Do unto others what you would want them to do unto you."

You can't figure out why people might dislike being told they're going to hell? I'm very strong in my beliefs, I'm a decent and moral person. I contribute to society and yet many MANY fundamentalists see me as a condemned soul simply because I am LDS. The God I know is not punitive and would not condemn me for doing my best to honor him even if I did happen to be mistaken in which way was best. Nor would he condemn anyone else for trying to do their best.

Is that what you think you do? How about bringing disrepute upon ALL Christians who then become confused with your ilk. Your reverence for scripture is admirable but your interpretations are viewed by many, including other Christians as simply ridiculous. Many perceive you to be vindictive, judgemental, and hypocritical. How does that help your cause of evangelization? If you want to save souls, you might try praying for them rather than ramming the NAME of JESUS down everyone's throat, or worse telling them that they have to accept your brand of Christianity or burn in hell. Who is saved and not saved is not your judgement to make. God Almighty will save who he chooses and you have no power over HIM.

Because you are directly contradicting the FSM's first "I'd Really Rather You Didn't":

"I'd really rather you didn't act like a sanctimonious holier-than-thou *** when describing my noodly goodness. If some people don't believe in me, that's okay. Really, I'm not that vain. Besides, this isn't about them so don't change the subject."

Oh you are talking about the fact that you're a fundy Pastafarian right?

I really don't like it when people I don't know try to tell me how to live my life. If my "eternal soul" is on the line I'd rather make any decisions concerning it's fate based on my experiences rather that a strangers.
