If the world comes to an end it would be because of global warming or nuclear warfare. I think the prophets didn't know what they were talking about. They just liked to believe they could tell the future. People can be so vain and just to become important they pretended to be able to see into the future. These blokes were just vain and foolish. The wise man lives always in the present and does what is appropriate and right according to his awareness and knowledge of the current situation. The prophets and religious teachers believed they had a mission but actually these guys were either mad or filled with a sense of their own importance. They needed an audience and had inflated egos.

Have you seen the movie, "Stranger Than Fiction" (2006, Wil Ferrell, Dustin Hoffman)? If not, SEE it and you might get an idea of what my answer is....
If someone knows what the "end" will be, and still goes willingly towards it, don't you want that person to live?
Or, if we know what the end will be, CAN we even attempt to change it, or will it be inevitable? OR even if we ARE able to "change" it in some way, will not the "end" finally find us, in one form or another?
Escatology (the study of the "End Times") is a fascinating subject. However, it does not change the fact that the "end" WILL come, regardless if we BELIEVE in it or not. To then say we have "no future" is untrue... for our "future" is the inevitable.
You confuse the End Times with the "Self Fulfilling Prophecy" concept. If a train is hurdling towards you, no amount of belief or DISbelief is going to change the FACT that... A TRAIN IS HURDLING TOWARDS YOU! You can say to yourself ALL you want, "A train is NOT hurdling towards me," but the reality is... A TRAIN is STILL HURDLING TOWARDS YOU!
Have a blessed day.

I believe in the Trinity, God the Father, God The Son, and God the Holy Spirit, I also believe the Scripture that Jesus Himself says "I will come as a thief in the night, no one but the father knows the time or day" He goes on to say that our hearts need to be ready for that day. As far as religion goes, no I do not belief in religion, and neither did Jesus. Look at how he talked to the religious leaders of His day. Religion brings a certain miss conception about how Christ need to be in our lives. You see being a christian isn't about the church you go to, It is about your personal relationship with Jesus.

Did a belief in Star Trek bring about time travelling starships in earth orbit in 1969? No? Well, there you go. If anything, people in power would work to AVOID such a catastrophe.
God has put His hooks in the jaws of all modern nations, not just Russia.

It's just a jugglery of words and means next to nothing.If beliefs can't herald good times(jobs,money,homes,health,love and what not),how can arrival of the so called 'end times' be any effective.By the way,all religions don't foresee end times and you can't have different worlds for different religions.

I think a belief in "end times" will make some people desperate enough to try and bring them about. But I suspect that they will just make a horrible mess that will take generations to recover from.

Belief in religion of self by self does not help in bringing results to problems;
It enables and empowers the self to adopt truth full ways and find righteous solutions, so as to enable and empower the self with right means when needs arise and help guide the self to bring results which would be pleasant and satisfactory to the self.
