Putin expressed not to attack Iran otherwise there will be consequences, what can we expect from this "former" communist country?

More requests for foreign aid from the good ol' US of A

Putin nor anyone else in Russia is going to do anything if we attack Iran. There were a few real madmen running the former Soviet Union for decades and the promise of mutually assured destruction kept them at bay. That promise is still in effect..!

Well they control vast reserves of oil and natural gas for one thing, so there could be some options open to them in that direction.

As for military, over ambitious idiots have been 'misunderestimating' the russians in that department for a couple hundred years.

Probably little of significance

They aren't that powerful anymore, and would not risk a war with the US, even with China's backing.

It's just the constant condemnation the US gets for everything it does

Perhaps they will send a mini-sub to the bottom of the Mediterranean and claim it for mother Russia.

Speaking as a good American, I feel that our nation should try its best to be honorable with all nations. If we do evil deeds, like killing civilians and bombing nations changing their regimes for oil, no one else will respect us. Does Bush care?
