I would seriously like to know why you have been on prednisone for such a long period of time. This drug has horrible, long term side affects that include skin deformities. Whatever condition you have can most likely be managed better by a safer and more effective treatment.

There are several reasons your muscles can be hurting or become weak. You can be have malnutrition to the point of where the muscles are not receiving the appropriate nutrients it needs to perform its function efficiently. Furthermore, the muscle can be exhausted to which you need to give it time to heal... a week or so should be sufficient. It is possible the muscles have inflammation which you need to take anti-inflammatory drugs such as Advil to reduce the irritation.

Drink plenty of water, have a gatorade if you feel like it, make sure you're getting enough protein in your diet and give the muscles appropriate time to rest between exercises and you should feel better in no time. Hope this helps, stay healthy.

Not unless, you check with your doctor first. Prednisone has all sorts of side effects, especially since you've been taking it for so long. I'd go to the doctor and maybe get him to change to a different medication. You may have built up a tolerance to it.

5mg of prednisone is a very low amount. I would look more for clues in the moving than the medicine. The move is the biggest change in your lifestyle and should be your starting point in tracking down what has happened.

Prednisone is serious medicine, you need to ask your Dr before you start messing with your dosage.
