is it possible to derive a fresh doctrine of God directly from the Bible?

free from the influence of trinitarians, unitarians, binitarians JWs Mormons etc? I wonder how it would look?

The only way that it would be hypothetically possible is to have a kid in an isolated place with just the Bible and a pen and a lot of other resources. assuming he could read and write what would he come up with? would he come up with the Athanasian creed, the Nicene creed, or the opposite view where Jesus is "just a man". I think it would be interesting and refreshing to read and we'd probably learn a lot. There's a point where I just get sick of all these debates.

my purpose here is not to get into another debate about who is right. okay? please...just answer the question. try and think about the question without your denominational bias. thanks.

Interesting enough, I think along the same lines as you do. I'm a Christian and I advise anyone, who is interested in God, to simply, sit down with the Holy Bible and read it, just like any other book. The problem with "doctrine" is it places God within a "box", to speak. There is the overall need to realize, that God is the God of everyone - believers and non-believers alike ! No where, do you find, God claiming to back a particular church or faith. No doubt about it, churches or faiths can be each, like laundry soap ... each claiming that his or hers washes the whitest ! God never intended this but the human element - people have "pigeon-holed" God ! Christians have a brain and a set of both, eyes and ears. They need to learn to research for themselves and prove [test] the Holy scriptures, to see their authenticity. How can any human being, lay claim to being a "Christian" without firstly, seeing things through his or her own eyes ? Being a blind follower of faith and being a cognisant follower thereof, are two separate issues. The Holy Spirit does not subscribe to any particular Christian faith but to ALL !!!

What if the child knows illustration and converts the Bible in to a running comic strip?One thing is sure that whatever the child does,it shall be simple,straight and from the heart.It's all together another matter as to how many shall understand it and worst,how many shall have the gumption to accept it.Humans have the in built trait to complicate things and make their own lives difficult if not miserable.

Interesting question. I think so. If one subscribes to the transactional theory the reader comes to a fresh text free of intentional, authurian, or cultural fallacy. I do think, however, that doe to the age of the text, and it;s frequency of study, anything "new" derived would most likely line up fairly close to an existing interpretation.

The theology of a single kid, instead of the accumulation of hundreds and hundreds of years of study of the Bible, would indeed be refreshing, but I doubt it would be in depth enough to answer the religious questions of mature folks.

I don't get sick of these debates but sometimes I get tired of them and go to bed.

so as we unite..the body of Christ in His glory and POWER..will be a GIANT with satan under his feet. then the rapture happen
