I've been doing this since I was a college kid in my 20's.

I just read that it was a sin but how could something safe and confortable be a sin?

I like to light candles and line them up around my bubble bath when I do this and I always watch a porn pay per view on the TV set. I thought that this would be OK since I am not married and have no other outlet.

Well you haven't gone blind nor has your arm fallen off so the real worrisome things haven't happened.
Are you refering to the "spilling of seed".......
Well how is masturbating any different than having sex using a condom or having sex when your partner is probably not ovulating....... those are both spilling of the seed with out intent of making a child......or having sex after menopause, or after having a hysterectomy.......
Pleasuring youself is cheaper than taking sleeping pills or anti anxiety pills and in the privacy of you own home it is legal....Gluttony, gossip, disrespecting your parents those are on the list but I don't remember seeing pleasuring your self.....
If God hadn't wanted us to touch ourselves he could have built us different......He chose to let the hand fall where it does......

Have you ever been to the zoo and watched, I mean, seen the monkeys do it.?They do it often and not to procreate either
I think this is where the evolutionists really came up with the idea that man and monkeys evolved from a common ancestor.
Makes sense.
But to answer your question: The Bible does not say that "auto sexuality" is or isn't a sin. It's a matter of opinion not doctrine. Where the Bible speaks we should speak and where the Bible is silent, we should be silent.
Actually, I wish more peo....monkeys would be silent about it.

Watching porn, is probably immoral on it's own without religious influence having been brought in...for many reasons.
Degrading of males and females and dominance being two very big reasons out of many.
That being said, No, being alone and doing that to yourself is not a sin. I believe the bible only says lust-is a sin..and I believe the context has to do with getting other people involved-AKA -rape.

No, no, no. The Old Testament of the bible referred to "the sin of Onan", which came to be called "onanism". God punished Onan because he was a member of a tribe who was intended to build a nation. Onan "spilled his seed upon the ground" instead of revering it as a source for future nations. The Old Testament God was pretty tough on the ancient Jews. Modern Christianity is much more easygoing.

God has no problem with people enjoying themselves and living happy lives so much as we are able. HOWEVER, if pleasuring yourself becomes more important than God, then you're not living a Godly life, which is a sin. You're "missing the mark" (which is what the word "sin" means). Watching porno means you're taking in something that is debauched and debasing to women, which means it's not Godly, and again, you're sinning.

Don't let porn and masturbation become the masters of your life. Live your life to your full potential and don't wallow in ungodly practices as an excuse. Whack away, just don't turn it into a lifestyle. THAT would be a sin.

The sin has little to do with yourself. The body aura is changed and it affects others . Also your desires are going to return stronger in a few hours. People in the next room can sometimes tell when you do it in private.

ha ha ha ha!, well the porn is a sin. God doesn't want his children perverting his gift of love making. I PERSONALLY don't think that it's a sin, but I DO think that porn is wrong because of the LUST aspect of it. Imagine this: you are a parent to a young boy AND a young girl, and you saw your daughter stripping in a bar and your son making a porn movie. You would be mortified because that is NOT what you want for your child right? Well, God is the same way, WE are his children and although I am going on my own interrpretation of this, he doesn't want US to be living such a twisted way. ya know what I mean. But getting off because it's our human nature to release like that, I personally Don't think it's a sin.

I'd imagine its been a long while since you were a "college Kid"
I don't think your question is serious. Therefore I'd say your elaborate description is indicative of just trying to find counter responses.
You certainly have succeeded.

God gave us the command to be fruitful and multiply and for those who help to bring new life into the world He gave the pleasure of marital relations. To take the pleasure without the return of the gift of life is like getting paid for skipping work. Onan was struck dead for spilling seed, not for adultery or fornication. St. Paul said that if you need to feel that way, get married.

You know what? Don't pay attention to all those religious zealots who would turn all forms of sex into something dirty! Sex is a gift of nature, and as such it is to be enjoyed! Two consenting adults, or by yourself! There is nothing wrong with either!
Just make sure to use protection, when another person is involved! You don't want unwanted pregnancies, or std's!
