There is NO 'right' age. Everyone matures differently, so what seems 'right' for one 18-year old may not be 'right' for another.

Simply put, age shouldn't be the deciding factor. It's about maturity and responsibility. If you're having sex, then you need to be mature enough and responsible enough to accept such consequences as pregnancy or disease. And you should be smart enough to USE PROTECTION to decrease your likelihood of having to deal with either of those things.

By the way, what's with all these people answering with, 'When you're married?!'... This is 2007, not 1857. Get with the program, people!

I believe that there is no right age that everyone should go by. While some people might not be ready until they are 20 years old, others might feel ready way earlier. I believe the right age is whatever age you are when you meet the right person. I was 19 when I met my Mr. Right. Hope this answer helps.

I think around 18 - dependant on the individuals maturity.
There is so much pressure, from others and yourself.
Until you've 'been there and done that' and have a few years reflection, the perspective of sex is way out.
It's easy at 28 to say 18, but, when you're a teenager ... it's scary and all out of perspective.

I don't think that it should be when you are too young 18 is a good age, but it really should be after you are in love and know that he truly loves you and not just saying it to have sex. You will know this when he stays with you as a boyfriend for a long time even if you don't give him sex. you will know it by how he treats you and how proud he is to have you with him at his side and shows love to you that is not sexual. Then after you know all this and are with him for a long time like this, you might be ready. Otherwise your heart will get broken if you give it up too soon to the wrong guy.

its a mordern world now.....people hardly think when to have sex . So if u r comfortable and take a decision for urself even if u r pregnant or r mature enuf to take right precautions to avoid unwanted pregnancy then its the right time. Just be sure u r not involved with some wrong person.

When you're mentally prepared.. Which usually isn't before the age of 16. Though, it might seem right before then.
However some people would say when you're ready to be a mother since you're taking a big risk!

at least 16, because then it's legal in most Countries. However, people shouldn't just do it then because it's legal, I think it is best to wait until just feels like the right time. This is such a personal thing, it should feel right.

When you're married. Sex can become addictive, and girls especially end up feeling ruined or used and pathetic when they start sleeping with people too much, especially before marriage. Girls feel insecure knowing their husbands have slept with other women, so it is just my opinion that one should wait until you are with someone and committed and you won't leave. Just how i feel. I think alot of our problems here in NA would be solved if people waited and took marriage seriously..unfortunately...1 in 2 marriages ...divorce. It's so wrong.
