It's for protecting you right & freedom. Freedom to show your support or voice your disagreement in protest. Freedom travel when & where you please. The freedom to follow what wever religion you believe. The freedom to an education. The freedom to choose what you want to do with your life, to decied for yourself who you want to marry, what music you listen to, what program to watch on TV. We have enemies out there! Some are of our making, others are not.

In North Korea, Venisuela, Iran they don't have those luxeries. Try speaking out agenst the government or the military there. I garentee you won't live very long. In Iran they imprison & hang people for speaking out.

In World War II we went to war to stop a power drunk dictator whom was exterminating an entire race. His ambition was nothing less then domination of the world! If you voiced any disagreement, you were suspected of being a Jew & sent to one of the many death camps in Germany. I don't think you would want to see labor & or death camps here! We went to war with the Japanese because they attacted us without provocation. Why did they attack? Because we stood in the way of their plans to take over the Pacific.

Why are we at war in the mid east? Because of a cowardly misguided faction of Islamic extreamists that believe the whole world MUST convert to their twisted concept of Islam. The only way they can get any attention is through violence without discrimination. They firmly believe if you will not convert, then your an infidel (outsider) & have NO RIGHT TO LIVE! These people will NOT change there way if we try to be nice, sit around the camp fire & sing Koombya. The high clerics have authorized these fanatics to use nuclear weapons on us, when they can get ahold of them!!!! I imagine you don't want to see any US city get nuked?A lot of the clerics are in Iran. This is why we don't want Iran to have nuclear capability. Because they can't be negociated with, & they hijacked 4 planes on 09/11/01 killing almost 3,000 INOCENT people (YES THE ATTACKS WERE REAL, NO IT WASN'T A CONSPIRICY).

This is what war is for!

Hey,I liked that song.Actually without war we wouldn't be the U.S.of A. We would still have slavery,we would be speaking german and japanese,we wouldn't have the oil we need, and now in a few years we would be wearing a burka and praying 5 times in the direction of Mecca.War is always not good but sometimes necessary.

Basically, I like all of the posters here and I like their answers. War is good for nothing and we should never get involved in a war. War does not protect our freedoms, because politicians use war as an excuse and they abuse their authority. Is Saddam truly a bad person and a bloody dictator or was it our CIA disrupting his nation to the point where he had to put down rebellions? And, in doing such, we made him look bad!

In an imperfect society, we need to protect ourselves. But, when the aggressor (US government) turns evil, war is certainly not a good thing.

I believe it was Theodore Roosevelt who, in 1906, said "Speak softly and carry a big stick!"

If we do things which are righteous, then yes by all means we should carry a big stick.

If we are criminal, then we have abused our rights. Not to mention the killing of 1.8 million by outright fraud and lies.

We can not carry a big stick, if we were the wrongdoers. We can carry a big stick, if we maintain honesty, righteousness, and law and order.

Absolutely NOTHING; I'll say it again; absolutely NOTHING! Except in the Iran war Bush has ammassed a multi billion dollar fortune for his cash cow Halliburton at the cost of hundreds of thousands of lives.

The creation of heroes. The useful outlet for teenage violence. Weeding out the weak. Adventure.

If you don't like it, STAY HOME! Somebody has to knit the baby booties and make the bullets.

to some people it is good because it "flaunts" what our military can do under a(excuse me for the pro-bush people) retard. Vice-verse there also have not been retards that flaunt our military and actually helped the U.S. like in WWII we dropped a nuke in Hiroshima and Nagasaki that actually helped us because if we did not do that the Japanese could have done worse to us the years to come.
