Well count yourself lucky if you don't feel depressed at least some of the time. Depression is caused by a lot of things. Something may have happened when the person was growing up that they couldn't get over for some reason and everyone seems to say "get help, talk to a psychologist!" only those kind of people to talk to are really expensive, at least where I live, plus money or lack of it could be part of the depression. Costs of living have increased while the wages have stayed the same.
As far as depressed teenagers...look at all the broken families that there are now...families aren't what they used to be...there is a much higher stress factor now. I personally believe that this decay is because the "woman" of the family went to work. Kids don't have parental bonding time like they used to. So they act out. Plus it doesn't help that kids are being forced to grow up so fast these days. What ever happened to letting kids be kids?

There is nothing wrong with the world. It is, as shown by photographs of it poised gravitationally alone in the frigid blackness of space-time, like a pretty blue marble forgotten by some child who once played with it. If there is a God as promised by many then he doesn't play with it any more. In fact there is no evidence of him or his angels in that photograph taken by a space-craft headed for the stars.
I am an old man (75 yrs) and my profile asks this same question as yours. I have no answer other than to say it is the stark reality of such photos and our seeming abandonment to our own devices that fuels the worlds convulsions. We have to regain some hope of a future that means something; a future that once was promised by a higher power. It is not, I think, to be found in a new frontier in space nor a return to a fundamentalist God promising heaven above and hell below (after all the Earth is obviously round).
It is in the "return" to a dedication to the WORLD and all it's inhabitants, which IS AS SHOWN BY THOSE PHOTOS OUR ONLY HOME. There is no other in sight for most of us for a long time to come. It really means putting into practice the values, morals and ideals of all the worlds religions which are really much the same and which they pay lip service to but do not put into practice.
Good luck with your answers, Good mental health, peace and Love!

I am a teenager dealing with severe depression, and i really hate it when people say things like this. "What did the human race do to itself?" We do not choose to be the way we are. Things happen, and until you have been put through the things that we have, you have no room to judge. I may go through what i do, but i still believe in God. I don't believe that he hates us, or that he is punishing us. Everything happens for a reason. God put us on this earth, and pointed us in the right direction, as he continues to do. Its Satan who throws these challenges at us. Not God. He does his best to get us through. He doesn't want us to fail. He loves us. Just believe.

God doesn't hate us, he gave us freedom to choose what we want to do, I'm sorry you feel this way, and you seem angry with God. There are reasons why things happen, and though a lot of them are unfortunate, they do happen for a reason... I hope you start feeling better about things. The world is a horrible place these days, but we can make a difference... try looking into it, it may make you feel better if you do some community service, or do something to better the world...

I think its because of the lack of values and morals that society has today....nobody respects themselves or each otehr anymore it seems, it's really sad. Things have just gone down the drain. Look back to the 50's, most people were happy, you didn't hear of all the crap going on today...and people actually went to church....had a belief system, morals....loved themselves..things were better then, society has corrupted the world

Unfortunately we took "God" out of our schools. There is no morals anymore. Just do what "feels" good. If your against something, then your a bigot or hypocrite. We need to
bring "God" back again in our lives. And live by what he
teaches. Some people have lost faith and hope and it is very sad. Pray for people who are in need. God is and will always be there for us. We just have to let him back in our lives again.
God Bless.

Well first off it's NOT God's doing. I am one of those people suffering from depression yet I'm smart enough to know that it is NOT God and you know it too. I don't know what it is, but free will has EVERYTHING to do with it.
