The basic difference is in the device's ability to withstand a fault.
MCBs are only capable of very low available fault currents, Somewhere in the neighborhood of 5kA. In most cases they must be used behind some kind of current limiting device. MCCBs on the other hand can usually be used in much higher fault current conditions.

MCB is a shortcut for Miniature Circuit Breaker, usually mounted as withdrawable type and used for small electronic equipment loads, while MCCB, is a Molded Case Circuit Breaker,usually used for motor and transformer loads, The latter is bolted mounted and usually has higher interrupting current rating than MCB's
