If you like him alot just ask him out even if it's just going out as friends and see what happens from there. Don't be afraid of rejection. Good Luck.

This is one of those old cliche questions that, when you really get down to it, have only one answer: simply ask. Just work up some confidence, put yourself out there, and try to sound as composed as possible. Chances are, it will pay off.
If it helps, think of something short and easy to say to start the conversation. Love is one thing in life you can't begin to understand until you've really put yourself out there and let things happen instead of controlling all aspects of your life. Be adventurous, do something crazy, you only live once - make it worthwhile.
All the cheesy - ness aside; guys think its hot if the girl asks them out sometimes too ;)

Why don't you wait and let him ask you out? You're too eager. There are 'stages' girls/guys go thru in being attracted to each other. You are a stage or two ahead of him. Caution: be patient and let him move at his own pace. Men/guys tend to become passive when a girl/woman gives more to the relationship. Slow down, don't move too fast and 'jump tha gun.' If you're too aggressive, he'll pull away and become disinterested.

Traditionally, woman doesn't have a chance to express her feelings to a guy specially in terms of love. the first to propose is always the guy. But now we are living in contemporary world in which men and women are equal. So why don't you open up yourself to your guy. you don't know his true feeling for you. You can only know it if you will try to open yourself. Don't go back anymore to the tradition but look at the future. Try this, befriend first to him, then a week or a month later, open to him your true feelings. You can know only that he has a feeling for you if you will open up yourself. But don't force yourself to be loved by him. If he doesn't have any feelings for you don't be worried, if there is much better.Remember, we are now living in a world of equality. To be ashamed is useless what is useful is trust.

You can just ask him out for something informal, not like a date and that will be a step toward getting over your shyness. Try to do things that make you feel better about yourself and that can help with the shyness, like asking this boy out for a start.
