I thought you had Bi-polar. Do you have both? Could it be borderline personality disorder, not multiple personality disorder? When dealing with boderline personalities, each personality is just pieces of yourself but intensified. BPD has been treated with medication, but medication hasn't proven to be as successgul as talk/cognitive therapy. BPD, is usually caused by a home where the parents are neglectful, the child moves around or changes schools often, abuse, or parents who are just indifferent. Usually the child has to mask their real feelings or emotions to be accepted and this carries through to all other areas of their life(friends, clubs, sports, relationships)
Multiple personality disorder is not very common. Generally a person has went through terrible abuse and subconsciously a different personality is created to deal with the abuse when it occurs. Because the person who is abused is generally lacking in social skills and other skills needed to survive, the person can sometimes find social situations(even grocery shopping) traumatic and that is when the other personality appears, after the abuse is knowlonger occuring.

DID - dissociative identity disorder. That means your identity is split. There are many ways of being you. That means that every part of you belongs, and the real you is a combination of all of the parts. Like most people, you won't/can't be aware of every part of you all the time, but the more you get to know the many ways of being you and accept them, the more you will get to know the whole you.
All your parts are real - what they express about your present or your past may vary a lot, but they all have something to add if you look for that in each. None of them stand alone. With DID you are like a jigsaw puzzle with some parts together and recognizable, and others scattered and unknown. Eventually, if you do the work, it all comes together to form one picture that includes all of you = the real you.

MPD actually was changed to Dissociative Identity Disorder, which may help you with more current research. You are your real you. However there is generally one personality that is present for the majority of the time, this is the "dominant personality." If you happen to find a therapist that believes that it exists, there is a lot of contrversy over this diagnosis, then many of them will opt for integration as a means for a cure, this is where the personalities are eventually blended into one dominant pesonality.

Hmmm>.>
I assume you were born with this.
All personalities are you because they all came from one original person, you.
Unless, you can go one minute from being "you" to chuck norris and then pretending your the batman. Your you.

The real you is who you choose to be. - ME? (Sorry if this exists already, Just thought of it :D sounds nice)

when you have mpd, most people are.... "unconscious" the "other selves" emerge. I mean, they're there, but it's not THEM, you know? And they usually aren't aware when the other personalities emerge. Many people don't even realize that they have MPD because they're not "there" when the other personalities emerge!

They are all you and you decide which one you want to be. Have somebody take you to a Psychiatrist and he can help you to be just the one you'd like to be all the time.
