I have naturally, stick-straight hair. No matter what I do, it will always end up straight. I have tried the "scrunching technique" with moose and gel and hairspray: it only looked straight and greasy and full of product. I also try using a hot curling iron and that just falls out. The only way I can ever get my hair curled so it stays is if I have been swimming in the ocean, or get it professionally done.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do to get a wave/curl in my hair??

1) If you use a curling iron, then pin the curls up w/ bobby pin until your hair cools completely so the curl can set.

2) Hot rollers are good too.

3) Apply a fine mist of hair spray to hold your curls. Using too much hair spray on your curls will make them damp & cause them to loosen.

If you are trying to curl it, spray the section with hair spray first then use the curling iron. It will take longer but the outcome will be better. I would suggest using Paul Mitchell's Freeze and Shine. I love this stuff....it's such a strong hold. You can get it at a local salon, and it might be a bit more pricier than the crap you buy in the store but it's worth it. It will look so much better. Good luck!

Okay i have two ways one fore wavy hair and one for curly:

1)wavy- put a little bit of mousse in it when its wet. when its almost dry braid hair in loose braids, run a HOT hair straightener through it a few times pressing down hard on the braids. spray the braids lightly with hairspray they take them out and finger comb through it.

2)curly- put mousse in it when its wet. take a curling iron and curl it and hold in in each part for a while and spray hairspray in it while its still in the curiling iron. pin most of the curls so its in like a spring against your head with bobby pins and take them out when your ready to go out haha.

finally, i also hear if you want ocean beachy waves like you do when you are swimming in the ocean, get an empty spray bottle and fill it with water mixed with salt. I havent done it but i hear thats what gives it the ocean look ha.

hope this helps!

Some deal here...

I got cute waves for a party when my sister braided my hair wet. I left the braids in for about 24hours, and the waves lasted all night!

My hair dresser also used the difuser on my hair wet before I had a function, my hair look awesome but had so much hair spray it wasn't even funny.

You can buy difuser attachments for the hair drier and I think they are pretty good, except you need heaps of hair spray...

you should try braiding it and leaving the braids in for a day or two
if that doesnt work try putting the curling iron of the braids so they get hot and more in place

You should try fructis conditioner. I have natural curly hair so when I use it it turns my hair into an afro.
