i had to leave town to help my dying grandma this weekend, but i couldn't bring my baby so i had to let the only person who i know in my town watch her, her estranged father and well when i came back to get her from his house she was really pale white and her lips were purple and she was coughing and sneezing really horribly and she looked so sick. she threw up many times and would eat anything she also had an ear infection and was really cold. i asked him what happened and he said he left he in the backyard to play in the snow for a while and forgot he said she was out side in the icy snow FOR 4 HOURS!!! i tried to keep her really warm and feed her soup but she wasn't getting any better i tried to take her to the clinic because we can't arrord the hostpitle but we dont have any way of payment, i also tried to get her some medicine from the store but i could only afford to get her some cough medicine and it didn't work, what is wrong with her and what can i do to get her better???

listen to me and listen good i have a close cousin who lives in the ghetto and i sure know exactly what you are talking about.
my cousin and his girlfriend live in the ghetto together with their 3 kids ( one died because of poor living conditions) well one time my cousin got a horrible case of pneumonia and because of how poor they were he had to practically walk 5 miles while really sick to another town just to get a prescription to some expensive medicine that will cost him a months salary.
people say things like " omg you have to take you baby to the hospital right now" and " what are you still doing on the computer" but have any of these people ever been to the actual ghetto and seen what it is like, people in these places they ask you for the money first because they don't trust anyone, and at these place they do throw you out the door even if you have a sick baby.
so my advice for you is not to run out or town and try to find a cheap hospital, my advice is for you to keep doing what you are doing, feed your baby, keep her warm, try to make her smile, love her and make her happy and it seriously will work, my cousin's child did die from poor living conditions and well he was devastated and i know you would be too so work hard as possible to get you daughters health at a good rate i know from my cousin's experience...

My boyfriend thought that he had a collapsing lung a few months ago but he and I were flat broke and no transportation other than promenade a pied.; however, the first thing that we did was go to the Emergency Room. We called a friend and got a ride there. After he had been seen in the ER and we went to bill paying we told them that we didn't have any money to pay for hospital fees so they sent us a bill. They took a lot of test but since we didn't have the money to pay for the services provided for that day they sent us a bill for 40-something dollars. He is a grown man, your child is not. I can understand needing to help your dying Grandma because my Great Aunt is currently dying but if leaving your baby at home with an unreliable "parent" I think that the babies Great Grammy would be happier having the baby 'round and well. In situations such as that you HAVE to bring your baby into the emergency room. You can get insurance for your child through Medicaid if the money is too tight, there are also free hospital clinics that help people in such conditions, and also Churches that collect money to aid. Best wishes and I hope your daughter feels better soon.

I wouldn't leave my dog out in the snow for 20 minutes, never mind leaving a small child in the snow for 4 hours - UNATTENDED.
What kind of creep can ignore and neglect a child at any age for that length of time. She's just a baby for Pete's sake! Still in diapers too!
I don't where you're at deary, but somebody needs to call the Police. That is a case of Child Abuse. How could he FORGET a child left in his care, and I use the word "care" lightly. And Don't you DARE forgive him! He doesn't deserve it.
Don't you dare let the child die! Shame on you if you do!
That baby depends on YOU and looks to YOU for help, guidance, care and comfort. Now HELP HER - it's your Responsibility - since you left your baby with a creep.
I'm a bit angry - Ok? Abuse and Negligence ALWAYS makes me angry, because I think people should know better. It's the year 2007 for crying out loud!
You HAVE to take RESPONSIBILITY, or you're no better than him. That Poor Baby doesn't deserve this!
I don't care how poor you are - YOU HAVE TO GET THAT BABY TO A HOSPITAL - NOW! And Stand your ground - your baby NEEDS help. You were obviously NOT TOO POOR to make that baby. In my Country, If you don't help her and she dies you can get charged with negligence.
To help a dying Grandma is no excuse to leave your child with a careless and negligent person.
WHY did you have that baby in first place? Or was she just another accident? That child deserves better than this.
Children are a HUGE RESPONSIBILITY - and a HUGE EXPENSE! Much Love, Proper Care, Food and Clothing, and certainly some INTELLIGENCE is required to have children.
Too many people think the only requiremnet needed is sex - so they think with the wrong body parts. WAKE UP WORLD!
If you can't look after them properly - DON'T MAKE THEM!

You need to get you're baby to the hospital and fast. You may not have enough money, and you may be thinking to youreself that it's too late to apply for medicare or s-chip, but it's not! A social worker at the hospital can do an emergency set up of you and you're baby on either medicare or s-chip which would cover all you're medical expenses.
Even though you're baby is pale, and blue, by this time she is out of any danger with hypothermia, hypothermia would usually have set in already, and taken over the nervous system and all brain activity. When a baby is that young, it could be a number of things, you have to remember babies DO NOT have good circulation to help regulate their body heat, that's why they always get temperatures!
You need to take you're kid to the hospital, and take her NOW!

Firstly, you "tried" to take her to the clinic-and what happened? They sent you away for not having payment? You did not say.Um ok.tHEN YOU CLAIMED YOU HAVE TO MAKE AN APPT??Tell them hey I need a dr or my kids gonna go into shock you're full of it...No clinic or hospital will send your baby or anyone who is in need of medical attention out of the door.Secondly there are TONS of health care services through your county, state or at federal levels to not have a form of ins.Bottom line is,you need to take that baby to the emergency room instead of asking people on yahoo answers to tell you that.THEN after you get her squared away I'd go to the police and file a child endangerment report on a person who leaves a child out in snow for 4 hours and actually admitted it to you.(which I find strange)GO TO THE HOSPITAL!!!Yea blue lips and frostbite will not be cured with cough medicine!!WHICH has been all over the news for being completely ineffective in children under 6 all over the news where have you been, under a rock??You have a computer but no TV??Try shutting the internet off and then you could afford what your child needs! You need some parenting classes or some form of a support group with common sense because this yahoo answers is not gonna help you!!Maybe it will because you're dense as hell!Poor child! How old are you??And do you really think that it's worth having a dead child for not going to the hospital because you can't pay them??Where do you live??Go to the ER and get off the computer!!(that means emergency room,it's open 24 hours a day)Why is it right that any moron is allowed to have a child???UGH.Everyone, let's pray for this baby because she's gonna need it!!!HMM did YOU leave the baby outside and you're scared to take it to the hospital because you're dont wanna get in trouble??Who would say,"yea I left your baby out in the snow for 4 hours, have a nice night" SUUUURE he did....
That's BULLSHIT you have no hospital in your "town"--call an ambulance it's called 9-1-1 on your phone,or get a ******* ride to one!!!You're full of **** lady!!!You're so poor but you have internet, huh??Give me a break. You either did it or you're full of **** playing games being stupid one way or another!!Give me your address and I bet you I could find emergency services...people don't encourage this moron she probably doesn't even have a baby. You're an idiot!!If you do,give me the address so I can report you...hey what hospital did you spit her out,TRY THAT ONE OR PICK UP THE PHONE AND CALL 911 HELLO!!

She has to be taken to the hospital; she will need Amoxicillin for the ear infection and she could possibly have Pneumonia.
If you can't get her there call an ambulance. Her health is more important than any financial problems you may have. When you get to the hospital ask someone about Medicade or Kidcare-(low-cost health insurance).

You really need to take her to the hospital, you don't know if this man did this intentionally...
Like everyone said, I rather have bills then a dead child... Doesn't your state have some sort of medicaid for people that can't afford to pay for insurance??? Either way, GET TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM, I wouldn't even think TWICE about my baby...
God bless & guide you...

go to the Emergency Room, now! Your baby's father needs to be reported. Even if you have to pay the hospital bill a dollar at a time--take her to the hospital. How do you know she had an ear infection? How old is she?

Hypothermia, maybe... keep her warm... give her warm milk and so on and call a doctor fast... pray for her... I will.... just take care of her and if bad comes to worse there is nothing more important than your daughter... take her to the ER and figure out payment later.... God bless you and your little girl... If there are no hospitals nearby then just keep her very warm, give her light massages to keep her blood flowing properly and give her warm milk as I said before... get help from someone nearby... maybe your mom or something... and for the future... have you asked about medicaid? or is it medicare? for your child... if you have and you are not eligible then I'm sorry to say there is not much more I could advice... take care of her as I know you will... God bless the two of you... I'll be praying for you... Oh and I'm sorry, I know this is a tough time for you but you have to turn her father in... you don't know what really happened and if you don't turn him in don't trust him with something as valuable as the life of your child....

OMG.
Count out her respiratory rate and her heart beat rate --how many times per minute.
Get a thermometer and take her temperature.
Do this now.
Is her suck on a bottle strong? Is she responding to you?
HOLD OFF ON THE COUGH MEDICINE NOW-- do **not** give it, especially if anyone else in her family has asthma or if she has been around cigarettes.
