A CTI specializes in a language, and do foreign language translations of radio telephone intercepts.

A CTT deals with analysis non communications signals such radar intercepts. with the merger of the EW rate into the CTT rate they also deal with tactical intercept of radar signals, electronic countermeasures, and missile defense.

It's not really a question of which is better, it's more a question of what you'd be interested in doing.

CTI: Interpreter/Linguist( no they do NOT speak the language at Native level. They spend all day in dark rooms with headphones on transcribing)

CTT: Technical: work on the SIGINT equipment.
