I don't want to be fat because after looking at my dad and everything who isn't really fat but thick with no muscle just fat and a huge stomach...I don't want to be like that. I never exercise either....right now I am slim and I want to keep it that way. How? also...my father who likes to eat...has a bbq every week and every week I eat a lot of that and a lot of pork....i should stop?

Metabolism slows down with age, along with a change in hormones. Bottom line, weight sticks easier. Therefore you need to exercise more just to maintain as you age.

Everybody is different, so there is no exact answer.

However what happens is that sometime after the age of 30 our metabolism changes, which means we break down less fat and start to get the middle aged bulge.

If you are in your 20s and not fat, you may find yourself putting on weight as you get older.

You can get fat for other reasons, just generally over all not eating right and not exercising.

Your best bet is to exercise regularly. This doesn't mean jogging, but get walking around and doing things. However for heart fitness you should do exercise that makes your heart beat much faster.

If you do this, then you will feel better and healthier.

if you keep gaining weight YES. im sorry to have to tell you this, but unless you change what you do and eat you will end up just like your dad. maybe less pork could help? im not sure though. RUNNING will help, RUN like everyday, then when you feel like you're gaining more weight, RUN more!!! start going to the gym, you dont need to work out a lot, just enough so that you aren't gaining weight anymore. then keep working out forever so you don't end up like your dad with a gross, fat stomach!!
