I believe the 60-70's era bloopers are real. (The one where he is left hugging a cypress tree in the middle of the lake is price-less!)
But, going into the 80-90's they do look kinda "rigged".
I think Bill is a good guy and a decent fisherman. I have 1 "gripe" about his shows.
They always take place in a "bass-hungry" lake or river that is either "secret" or a "stocked-pond/lake" situation. My 4 year old could catch fish at Bienville Plantation!
I'd like to see a Bass-fishing show that imitates Survivor Man!
Here's the concept:
Kidnap some "slick-@ss" Pro at 3:30 AM and blindfold him. Take him to an un-disclosed heavily-pressured lake/river with 3 rods. Make him/her fish in an old "rental" 16 FT "pull-start" boat with "noisy" trolling motor blades, (preferably a boat that no-one could "breakdance" on the front deck!). Make sure they only have 4 gallons of gas in the boat. Antique electronics, (no 3-D or "colored" sonars); perhaps even an old "flasher" unit.
The object of the show? See if the "pro" can catch anything! Pay-out is $100 a fish, (legal fish).
Now THAT would be a show worth watching!
(LMAO)

Bill Dance's show is second only to the Fish Fishburn show that aired 10-15 years ago.
Bill Dance is great though.

I think he has a good show....In my opinion Hank Parker is better. But the things Bill Dance does i believe they could be real because he is somewhat of a goofball(no offense to any Bill Dance fans). But he is a funny guy, good fisherman so i would put him in my top 5 favorites but Hank Parker is at the top of my list.

He doesn't hold a candle to our local (New England) fishing show. If anyone's ever watched Charlie Moore AKA The Mad Fisherman, you'd know. He is completely insane and his show is great. He is a big New England sports fan and most of his guests are New England sports celebs from all the local sports teams. If you're ever in New England, try to catch his show.

Some are real I'm sure, but some of them just look to fake. I have the DVD of Bill Dance Bloopers and some of the things he does looks very fake.
