Recently I find myself falling into deep drug-like naps during the day. I don't hear anything and cannot remember anything. The nap can last from 30 minutes to almost 2 hours. It is difficult to waken from them and also frightening. This seems to be happening daily lately. Has this ever happened to anyone who can share with me. Thank you. Mandy

Unfortunately yes. What was worse, I was at work! Thankfully I was in a office on my own. However the first day it happened I was well shocked when I came too, like hold on what happened? It was like clockwork noon to 1pm I just went out for the count. Therefore I would lock the office door, take the phone off the hook so that if I did fall asleep, no one would know except me. Moreover I felt so refreshed after the hour nap, far more refreshed than after a eight hour sleep in bed? I managed to keep this napping up for about six months. Years later I was diagnosed with Fibro and I often wonder if that was the start of the Fibro?

How old are you? Mono???? Chronic Fatigue? Might want to consider sleep studies. I am the same way - I found out I have apnea and excessive sleepiness during the day - and if iI nap I have no concept of time....none...I am always disoriented when I wake up. See a doctor.

Are you taking any new medication? Sometimes new meds will cause this to happen (especially pain medications). If this isn't the case I would suggest seeing a specialist (maybe going to a sleep lab where they can monitor you overnight - or in your case during the day).
Good luck
