When she is ready and shows interest in the potty. You can start introducing her right now by taking her to the bathroom when you go and showing her how to flush and make the flushing part fun and interesting. Some may find this "gross" but my husband taught my boys to say "bye bye turd, see you in the river" when they flushed a poo. I know it's icky and weird, but it works and my 8 year old still says it from time to time. However, at 14 months, your little girls is not going to be ready to actually potty train. You can set her on the potty, make up funny flushing sayings, but your best friend when it comes to potty training is Patience. Most children will let you know when they are ready which is usually around 3 years.
Good Luck

I think now would be a good time to introduce her to everything. If she shows interest then by all means go ahead and train. My little sister and cousin were both trained by the time they were 15 months, and I believe I was only 16 months. Girls mature much faster than boys and seem to take to the training a lot easier. Don't force it though because then you could turn her off of it completely and it could be a LOT longer. Good Luck!
I just got my son trained and he is going to be 3 next week.

Let her initiate the training. Sure, show her the potty, let her know what most people do - let her see what you do, but don't force it - that is just a headache for you and frustration for her. Some girls are ready, but I will tell you my sister and I were not taught outright about potty usage we just told our mom at 18 months we were ready. So, what do you want, frustration of trying to teach a child that is not ready or a little kid telling you "I want to use the potty." And that's that?

When she starts showing interest in using a potty or the toilet, or when she doesn't like the feel of being wet or dirty any more.
Let her see you using the toilet (and washing your hands afterwards!), let her just sit on the toilet / potty / whatever you're planning to train her on.
It's easier in summer 'cos she'll be wearing fewer clothes.

When she starts showing interest. It's different with every kid.
It is possible that she could be ready anytime now...or it could take until she's three or so.
I actually know of a little girl who initiated potty training before she was 1. At her first birthday, her parents kept getting asked if they were crazy, as she didn't have a diaper on...until she'd toddle up to Mom or Dad and say 'pee-pee' or 'poo-poo'...seriously.
My niece is 14.5 mos, and in the last couple of weeks she's started telling my sister before she poops. She'll come up, point at her diaper and say 'poo-poo'. My sister checks...nothing yet. My niece comes back over a few minutes later 'poo-poo'...sure enough, there it is.
Every kid is different. When she's ready, she'll start showing interest.

A lot depends on the child, one way to tell is when the child does not wet her diaper nightly on a consistent basis, but if you start to soon, it will be harder to fully train her, if you start to late, you will make it harder also, My 2 year and 2 month old daughter was fully trained by her 2nd birthday, till she was scared of the public restrooms, she will still have accidents at night every once in a while and sometimes in public, but at home, she does just fine. Like I said, depends on the baby.

Now,
I dont mean to start forcing her to use the potty. But, showing her and explaining to her what the potty is, will help her learn sooner.
Take her with you when you use the potty. If she has older siblings, let her watch them.
When you use the potty... Make it a big deal...
Show her BIG GIRL pantys...
Good Luck...
It will come soon enough...

It wont hurt tho to sit then on the potty when u take the nappy off just before bath time each night. Thats what i did with my kids and now my 2yo pees every night before he gets in the bath.
Its now time for me to go to the next step and put undies on thru the day. He has just turned 2.

Not until around 2, because pushing before she's ready may make it take even longer.
However, it wouldn't hurt to introduce the potty now. Show her how to use it and get her comfortable with it.
