i've been highlighting my hair so that it would be a little blonder, i'm already almost a strawberry blonde naturally, but ever since i have been highlighting it i haven't had a moment's peace due to my mother. My mom thinks it's "too blonde," and that it looks tacky.
I think it looks okay, and I'm pretty confident I have okay judgement, but the other day she said it looked just plain "tacky." :(
what do you think? should i get low lights? or just let it go naturally? or continue with the highlights? i do like the blonde color, but if it really looks that bad and I really am blind to it i'd like to know!!!
this is the only decent picture where my roots are really showing

You are really pretty and the blonde suits you! If Mom really doesn't like it you could have some low-lights put in,maybe a little darker blonde....I tell my clients for every 2 hi-light services we will do 1 low-light...that way the hair retains dimensional color.

First of all, you look beautiful and would be beautiful no matter what your hair color is.
Having said that, dealing with roots can be a pain in the neck. I know this from experience.
I think if you got some lowlights to blend in with your natural hair color you could have the best of both worlds. Still be blonde but not have the root line every few weeks.
It's only hair so experiment and have some fun with it.
Good luck sweetie!

I don't think that your hair looks tacky. However if your going for a natural look you've sorta missed it. See your hair has no shades to it, that I saw, like natural hair does. Try letting it grow out of your hair then. When It's almost all grown out ask your stylist to use the smallest amount of the solution. That's how I always get my hair done and everyone thinks it's natural. Good luck

I can see were ur mom is coming from, but I get the look. Some people do that to their hair at my school 2 and I personally dont like it to much. I dont think its that bad though. Also do u like have brown hair in the back because thats how it looks in the pic. Also anyone could tell it was fake.
I hope I helped a little :)

It doesn't look tacky, but it's not entirely natural-looking either; it's a little too bright. Some lowlights might help with it looking more natural and help it blend with your natural color if you ever want to grow it out.

I think a honey blonde or strawberry blonde would be more flattering, and look more natural.
You are a very good looking girl, but that shade washes you out.

Your hair is fine. It suits you well. I don't think you should make it any blonder though but the lowlights might be a good idea.

Your haircolor looks great. I don't think you should change it. Lowlights would only make it look less natural (think about it... a bunch of dark streaks... no...)
Next time your mother insults your haircolor, I think you should insult her outfit/weight/nose/whatever. Her constant criticism is basically verbal/emotional abuse, and you don't have to put up with it.

Heck No your looks beautiful!!! I wouldn't change it at all it suits you very well...If you like it that's all that matters don't change it for any1 else but yourself...I know tons of girls's would kill for their hair to be like that so *yay* you!!! But yeah I really think your hair looks good and that you should leave it as is!

I think it looks really nice the way it is. You barely even have a contrast at the root. Dont listen to her :-P
