Wee Enchanted Garden kit

Nice change from video games and Barbies, etc and lets the child actually participate in something useful and interesting.

I had this same garden when I was seven and it was my favorite and most fascinating gift. I was so excited when the grass grew and I rearranged the little stones and the house and figures and shells and I looked for things to add; it was an ongoing pleasure and I am getting this for myself again, so many years later because it is just so much fin...and you trim the grass! No tiny lawnmower included, you have to use scissors but it is so much fun.

Editorial Review
For kids who want to experience the magic of growing their own garden, this kit is a fun and inventive experience. It contains everything you need to grow a small terrarium complete with an entire community of tiny fantastical inhabitants. Paint the special planter with the paints (three primary colors included), fill with soil, and then plant the enclosed beans and grass seeds. Then it's time to arrange the tiny fairy cottage, use the green pebbles to make a tiny path, and decorate the garden with the rocks, shells, and plastic animals that come with the kit. As the beans sprout and grow, you can cut and shape them so they look like miniature trees--and for variety, add pepper, lemon, cantaloupe, and tomato seeds and watch just what comes up. --John Longenbaugh

Product Description

Well before Christmas take her shopping with you and just happen to wander through the toy section. If she's like every other 7 year old I know, you'll leave with more than a few suggestions of what she'd like.

If she likes to draw she may also like other creative things like painting. You could get her an easel (Playskool makes a sturdy plastic one that has a chalkboard on one side) and she can use it to draw on as well or to paint. other idea include...
jewelery making kit
sand painting kit (my daughter has one but she can only use it outside)
musical instrument & lessons
accessories (fashion purse, shoes or belts etc.)
crayola sidewalk paint sprayer (its like drawing but she will get to do it outside on the ground so its a little different)
overnight bag/small suitcase in her favorite tv character
floam (microbead compound she can decorate stuff w/, its gets hard and stays on whatever she covers it w/)
heely shoes (the ones w/ the wheels in the heel)
room decorations
board games
small telescope
makit & bakit suncatchers or bowl kit
homade coupon book (good stocking stuffer) w/ coupons she can redeem w/ you & dad for stuff like "one friend to spend the night", "your choice movie night", "eat out at your fav resturant" and other things she may like (but if you give her this the boys might be upset if they dont get one too!)

Hope you like some of these ideas...good luck

I know you mentioned she liked drawing. How about paining? You could get her an oil paint set, with canvases in different sizes, all different color paints, different sized brushes.

My cousin turned 8 a few months ago, and I got her that and she loved it! She even made me my own picture that she painted for me.

They have alot of great things at target in the toy aisle that have get bead making kits, jewelry kits, pottery kits, accessories kit, even make your own purse kits. Very neat things.

I also likes the tamagochi idea.

Figure out what shows she likes to watch and get a toy for it.

ie if she likes Dora the Explorer, buy her a dora doll with a tiny boots on the side.

(sadly i know all the charactors in the show)

Webkins are huge right now. My girls are driving me nuts with them! If she's into art, try a pottery wheel. My daughter loves hers. Good luck :)

How about a story and a hug .
A story from her personal laptop you so dearly want to buy her. A hug you so dearly give her everyday.
