I have a 1988 Ford Ranger V6 2.9L truck. My distributor is in good shape, but I want increase the life of my spark plugs and want to have better starting. I mostly use my truck on the streets ( 30% city, 30% town, and 60% highway driving). What distributor is the best for my particular vehicle(breakerless, street billet, etc.)?

My mistake on the percentages I meant to put 20% city, 20% town, and 60% highway.

Forget a new distributor... you got one that will do the job for your kind of driving.. unless you want to get rid of the TFI ignition, plan on taking the engine over 6,000 rpms normally, or want to replace plugs do to a hotter than normal coil voltage... I'd stay stock...

Go with platnum or even better double platnum plugs... better starts and basically 100,000 mile change interval but I've seen many go 150,000 before causing issues

What's the difference between city and town driving?
30 + 30 + 60 = 120%
Those spark plugs will last forever in that truck.

get any high performance plugs, wires and distributor. But i wouldnt even mess with the distributor just get good plugs and wires... For better starts you need a good battery also.
60+30+30= 100%????

A new / different / "performance" distributor will do nothing for your plugs. If you use the reccomended plugs at the proper heat range they should go 50,000. Mine do on my Dodge stock 4x4
