Suffering and pain are virtues, yes. We become more like Christ the more we suffer and look to the Father to pull us through.

no.. in a philosophical sense... a virtue are to improve or elevate quailty of life. you can argue that pain does fit into that category, but the problem with that is, what good does it do for you ethics?
I guess you could say that pain can be a virtue, depending on your perspective of your own virtues.

good question.

Pain is an important part of our bodies communication system...but when it exceeds our level of tolerance, and it cannot be relieved, we seek to escape it.

People who have had to live with chronic pain, find virtue in their struggle, and meaning in their pain. But most are still looking forward to the day when "suffering will be no more".

Pain itself is not a virtue but willing acceptance of unavoidable pain can be.

No, pain is not a virtue. But pain is the refiner's fire God uses that CREATES virtue:

It is good for me that I have been afflicted that I might learn thy statutes. Psalm 119:71

We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. For we who live are always being given over to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.
—2 Corinthians 4:8-11

Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ's sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.
1 Peter 4:16

Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name.
—1 Peter 4:12-14, 16

Pain can be a good thing because it tells you that there's something wrong with your body. (Just like guilt tells you there's something wrong with your soul.) People with leprosy can hurt themselves because they can't feel pain in their extremities.

No, but the way in which we respond to that pain might be.

yes If we suffer with him we will reign with him
I think that is not referring to physical pain
the pain that others throw at us for his cause and his Kingdom
