I find that some websites don't do it for me since I myself I'm still learning chinese (i know basic conversations, and I understand for the most part, but I'm not yet fluent and I have trouble with grammar sometimes.)

It helps if you actually hear how chinese is spoken, rather than just reading it in pinyin (because if you don't know how pinyin sounds, then learning in by pinyin is still pretty useless.)

I recommend Chinesepod.com, but they only offer free podcasts for a month, after that you have to subscribe. but there's no limit to downloading podcasts withing that month though.

then there's "Learn Chinese Thru Music" where the site gives you the lyrics of chinese songs (Mandopop) with the english translation right below, and a music video of the song. It not the most recommended site if you want conversation lines, but it really helps learning the definition of some words, especially if you hear it repeatedly in some other chinese songs.

And last thing I would recommend is watching Chinese dramas, or shows, with english subs. This way, you really get to hear normal, everyday chinese, and as always, you learn from repetition. (There's a lot available for downloading online, and they're done by fansubbers.)

hope this helps!

That's awsome you're so enthused to be taught learn how to talk a different language and tradition! I am finding out learn how to talk Mandarin Chinese and I'm taking weekly group categories, and finding out on my possess with Chinese books and discs. I do not recomend seeking to be taught on-line, on account that the extra entry you must the folks who talk it, and listen to it, the extra simpler it'll be so that you can be taught it. Learning a brand new language is exasperating and complicated every now and then, however keep it up, on account that it opens such a lot of doorways sooner or later, for jobs and peers! zai-jian!
