if you are not happy of that something, then leave that something behind and find the one which your heart longs for...
No one and nothing has the right to make you unhappy. You are the one who holds the key to your happiness!!!
You are the one who make the choices, choose to be happy and you will be...goodluck

Well, this is what I do. If I research the situation, evaluate what the situation is, I'll see if I can change it on my own. If I cannot change that situation on my own, I seek others that I trust to assist me.

If I cannot change what I am unhappy about (say the Iraq War for example) I do pray and then what I do is try to find one small thing about the subject or situation that I can change and then I manipulate the circumstances in order to help out my mental mood.

If all else fails, I go to a therapist and seek their advice on how I can handle my own thoughts and mood in a situation.

Nothing happens without a reason. Look at hardships or challenges as pathways to peace. Pray that you will be able to take the world as it is, not as you would have it.
