you can use salt water rinses, as mentioned earlier. or a mild mouth wash. something like biotene. make sure you're rinsing your mouth out after eating anything. there is really nothing you can take to make it heal faster. just do your best to keep the piercing and your mouth clean and you won't get an infection. if you continue to have problems or develop an infection, you need to see a doctor. there are no over the counter medications to treat infections.

Whoever pierced it (if you did it professionally) should have told you how to clean it. If not, there's certain mouthwashes made for oral piercings. Purchase a kit to keep it as clean as possible. Keep in mind that oral piercings increase your chance of gingival recession by about 45%, and that could lead to tooth loss. Keep checking on your gums to make sure they don't recede. If they do, I would suggest taking the ring out. Good luck!

Here's an idea, take the darn thing out, you're going to end up ruining your teeth with it anyway!

SINCE YOUR MOUTH HAS MORE BACTERIA THAN THE PART YOU WIPE, IT'S A SMART CHOICE TO JUST TAKE IT OUT AND LET IT HEAL.
