Because the vast majorities of christians are hipocrits.
(well I guess I should say the ones I know are)
Sometimes it isn't easy to keep a healthy weight though. For some people, that is just how they were raised(to eat everything infront of them).
I was taught never to waist the food I was given. But I will not over-eat if that is what it comes to. I used to, especially through middle school. I was pretty chubby.

I have noticed that Christians (especially in the Southern US) like to get together for meals, picnics, banquets, etc. It's not them being hypocritical or anything, it's just a social thing.

I am a Christian and i wonder the same thing. we like to pick our pet sins and focus on them. The good news is that Christ forgives that one too.
