no such things as the lower abs. muscles either contract as a whole or not at all. it's physiologically impossible to isolate part of a muscle.

don't use localized fatigue to judge the effectiveness of an exercise, it's one of the biggest mistakes made by most.

I can't think of one off the top of my head however if there's a library near you, go and check out some books or videos. There should be a variety for you to choose from and once you turn them back in, you can get new ones so that will keep you from getting bored with the same old routines.

Hi There,

I like the "jack-knife sit up", it does not require special equipment and works all your abs & especially your lower region.

Movement:

Sit on floor-mat. Lie back flat to the floor with hands to your sides. Simultaneously raise knees and torso until hips and knees are flexed. Return to starting position with waist, hips and knees extended.

For optimal results, you can go as fast as you can from flat to curl, but you should try to resist and slow down when going from curl to flat again.

cheers
