If you want an actual job you will probably have to wait till you are at least 15. It depends where you live but most places let you start working once you are 15. There are some restrictions to the amount of time and when you work though.

I say work hard being the child you are and enjoy it. This time in your life doesn't last forever. A job will be out there when its time. Babysitting is good if your a responsible person. That way you are not always asking your parents for money that you want for silly things that are not important.
Concentrate on school and your grades so in the future you will be able to do what your heart desires. Keep it simple.DON'T RUSH BEING AN ADULT!!!!

Although it varies state to state, I know here in Florida 14 and 15 years olds can work but very limited hours and 16 year olds have looser restrictions. So it varies state to state but I am sure your local laws are similar to this considering all must obey the federal standard its the choice of the states if they want to make it more tough.

Do more yards, charge more as kids get older.
You must be 18 years old before you can get in any low paying job at Super bagger or Mcflip. you may get to sneak in at 17 years old in some jobs.

Or Head Quater United States Marine Corp will get you in at 17 years old and they help you get a GED too.

I believe you have to be 16 years of age in most states and most employers do not like to employ anyone younger than 16. Stick with your babysitting and dog walking jobs.

Those types of jobs are fine for now. What's more important is getting good grades. When you are out of school what type of a job do you want......a so-so job, or a job that pays well. The choice is yours. The more you do now (schooling) the better and easier your life will be later.

In some places you can get a workers permit @ 15. But usually one must be 16 to get a so-called "real" job.

In some states you can get parents to sign waiver saying you can work at 14. Nothing later than 10 pm here...MI.

Quite a few places hire at 14 I believe publix and McDonald's do but just decide where you would like to work and call them and ask what age they hire at. Good Luck
