If God is all powerful and all good, then Satan must be a part of God...but if Satan is sepearte, then God obviously has a piece of the universe he can't control. So is God good, bad...or both?

There is no Satan. He is a fictional character made by the church to scare everyone into doing what they wanted them to do.

Correct. God is both, hence the "the Alpha & Omega, the begining and the end." God or the God presence is omniscient. Man has created religions that infer that God is separate from you and everybody. Religion has also said that God has cause to create an enemy with whom he has to fight. God is EVERYTHING. There is no such thing as thing not being GOD. It is not possible. You see this entire reality is relative and we/man have created arbitratry measuring tools and labeled them with the values of good/evil God/Satan happy/sad. None of them mean anything, but all them are God.
Read: Conversations with God by Neal Donald Walsh.
This book helps clarify the TRUE essence and experience of God. God is not a punishing entity ready to strike you down when you do bad. Nor is there any Satan scowling around seeking to devour anyone. That's all religious fantasy.

God CREATED everything just like you. He created Satan, who started out as an angel. Just like you have free will so do angels.
Well Satan figured he could just as good as God so he and his followers were removed and a place called Hell was designated for them.
The Bible has these answers if you are curious. You should also read A Divine Revelation Between Heaven and Hell...Its a little blue book...you will understand the differences extremely clear at that point.

God is Good, God is Love.
Satan rebelled.
God banished him from Heaven.
God CAN control ALL.
Just like with us, He also gave the angels free will to CHOOSE the way they would follow. He forces no one to do any thing.
Satan is REAL, don't listen to those people.

Your reasoning is off. God is everything within His character. It is not His character to be part of satan.
God is good, and He is Just.
