If she is an adult, then don't do anything. It's her business. If she is a child living in your home, that's another matter.

Have you ever read a romance novel? Those things are lame as hell, hardly smut. I could see wanting your daughter to write a story with more literary prowess instead of one about a woman who is carried away by a man on a white stallion, but come on evil?

How does trashy romance novels lead souls astray? It's just mindless entertainment. As to your daughter, would you prefer that she act out a trashy romance novel?

You can't really control what she does if she's over 18. Good luck to her! I'm an aspiring writer myself, only I write horror (gasp!) , dark humor, and poetry.

btw, Satan does not create love stories, no matter how trashy they are because Satan himself is a fictional character.

What do you think the book "The Song of Solomon" is in the Bible. Honey that's just a 2000 year old trashy romance novel.

Let her write it. Since she's probably never been permitted to read one then my hunch is that her attempt would be pretty innocent.

Lest you object to her 'romance' ending with ones intent to kiss another. I'd hardly call that trash --quaint perhaps-- but not trash.

As a writer myself, I would encourage her interest. Many a writer has made their families uncomfortable but no one complains when the checks start coming in.

Let her make her own decisions. She is your offspring, not a miniature version of you. It's not like she's out selling herself on the streets, it's a fictional novel. Get a grip.

A porthole for the future to come. The more you try to hold your kids down to have your instilled "great morales" the more they will revolt. I've always said the wildest girls I knew were preachers daughters.

You don't reference how old your daughter is... see if you can find another outlet for her creativity and encourage her to expand her horizons. Romance novels need not be trashy, but don't discourage her from exploring her independance... find a balance.

Hmmm... as a writer myself, I cannot offer advice unless you specify what you mean by 'romance novel'.

I promise I'll reply if you specify more details. Really.

Yes, and Danielle Steele is no doubt "astray" as she counts her mega-millions and laughs at ignorant people like you.
