So you've dressed hundreds if not a thousand deer in 25 years of hunting eh? This makes you a liar my friend. Deer have kidneys, 2 of them in each deer, this means you should have seen at least ONE kidney in the hundreds, if not a thousand deer you have supposedly dressed. Consider the odds of coming into direct contact with over 2000 kidneys and never seeing a single one.......

40 deer a year? What're you doing with all them? And how'd you end up with so many tags?
You must live in one of those states without a DNR or hunting laws.
But when you shoot a deer, it gets extremely surprised, and will usually have an enormous adrenaline rush. This will cause the kidney's to 'wilt' from the muscle contractions, where they will be forced down the urethral tubes and into the bladder. If you do find the kidney's, you're not shooting the deer hard enough, and your an unethical hunter. Having dressed that many deer and never having seen the kidneys, I'll bet you're a really amazing shot, and are extremely lethal.

I find it difficult to believe you have not seen them. Of course deer have kidneys. How in the world would a mammal process and expel fluids without kidneys?
Kidneys are located on the interior of the lower back. About were the loins end. They are usually a little pinkish colored.

As a Pharmacist, I had to take the same physiology classes as Medical Students, and all mammals have kidneys. Without kidneys any mammal will not live a week after birth.

I hate to be one of those "jumping on" guys, but of course Deer have kidneys, as do all mammals. Your failure to find them does not mean they don't exist, and your claims of a thousand deer in twentyfive years mean you're either a poacher, a liar, or you work at a meat packing plant that handles deer for hunters who don't dress their own (and even that I find unbelieveable).

White-tailed deer do have kidneys. It's possible they are in a different location than you are used to, or are a different color.
