When someone is trying to intentionally kill you with a car, and you are on a bicycle, it might not be too easy to avoid.

interesting question.. I was hit by a car once and if I had a firearm and decided to fire I would have been firing at a car leaving.. Cops would have seen this as my fault. Use your head..

I live in Florida and are allowed to have concealed weapons as long as we have a concealed weapons permit.

However if you strap a rifle to the handlebars and and maybe one to the rear too.. you can get those little bastards before they get you.

Do you really think you can see the approaching threat, jump off the bike, draw and fire, stop the threat , and move on agent 007?

Now I'm a gun owner, but I'm not sure how exactly a firearm would help defend against road rage. The operative word there is defend. That means that you are preventing impending harm. Unless you have a gun aimed at drivers behind you as you ride, I'm not sure how a firearm is a defensive tool against road rage. An orange vest with big flashy lights would be a better defense. What kind of bullet stops a car anyway?

I was just thinking about this today after being in the proper land of traffic, etc. and SUV on cell phone driver made a right turn in front of me. I am so glad I did NOT have a gun with me or I would have shot her. The next best thing, if you can, is to get the plate number and go the police. You can also get the id from the police report and file civil charges against the driver if you want to go that route. But my police sgt friend told me that the driver could be ticketed/charged with reckless driving, and this is a felony. Anyway, good luck. Carry a pen and paper for that plate number. I also thought about eggs to throw at the vehicle but they probably wouldn't care, never mind that I don't throw well and it would be a lot of trouble. I heard of a cyclist who carried a paint ball gun . . . . hmmm

I think they should not be allowed to carry a weapon on campus. That would cause so many problems. Just think about it. If a person was to get angry at someone or a group of people they may react by pulling the trigger. It is fine if they have a permit to carry a gun. Businesses do not allow firearms. Banks, airlines, sport arenas etc.. have good reasons not to allow firearms. Most people do not have a permit to carry one and the ones that do, I would not feel any safer just because one had the permit.

The best self defense is to keep out of range Grasshopper.

You will feel pretty awful when they slam the cell door shut on you after your street justice is metted out.

Just yell to vent. If they are dumb enough to get out of the car use your well warmed up body accordingly.

Not a good idea. Incidents happen quickly. By the time that you could pull out the gun, you're probably already a road pizza. Be observant and smart. Avoid trouble. Ride predictably. If you do these, you are very unlikely to be the victim of road rage.

I save up used AA batteries. They fit in the pocket easily, and are easy to throw at all drive-by *******, whether they bump their crap music too loud, have cackling drunkards screaming out the windows, or whatever.

Better opt for defensive cycling.

A firearm can land you right in jail.

Ummm, how about just avoid it in general. It is easier than carrying a gun especially if you could get caught by a cop. And what about the fact that when you shoot a gun, it fires a bullet, and that bullet injures and can kill people.
