The Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses has never formally discussed any bible principles as they apply to cloning per se. Clearly, a true Christian (such as a Jehovah's Witness) would insist that no human life is intentionally terminated (compare Exodus 21:22, 23).

(Psalm 139:13-16) You [Jehovah God] kept me screened off in the belly of my mother. I shall laud you because in a fear-inspiring way I am wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, As my soul is very well aware. My bones were not hidden from you When I was made in secret, When I was woven in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw even the embryo of me, And in your book all its parts were down in writing

Interestingly, Jehovah's Witnesses do not believe that bible principles preclude a married couple from using assisted reproduction technologies (although each Christian must obey his own conscience in this regard).

There are scientific efforts toward the lengthening of life, such as by attempting to overcome an apparent limit to the number of times that cells regenerate or by therapeutic cloning to provide patients with new, compatible organs. But the Bible shows that the only means by which humans can gain everlasting life is Jesus’ ransom.
The Question could be asked is everlasting life not dependent on scientific advancements?.. Answer No.

I agree with conundrum.

Allow me to add thisd as well: The Bible is silent what it comes to the action of cloning, to me personally it seems to be unatural to create another living being in that manner, but that is MY personal opinion.

Howwever, in many cases the exact purpose of the cloning can be more specifically commented on.

For example cloning another human being for body parts. That would be the same as having babies so you could use their body parts to prolong your own life.

Really, I cannot think of any reason to clone a human other than reasons that the Bible implicitly or explicitly prohibits.

My first comment above relates to both animals and humans.

Show me a successful human clone, then we can go from there. Lesbifriends, you seem awfully interested in my beliefs, could it be you wish to be a Witness?

MANY MANY issues involving this are debated on by people on personal, religious, social and political levels.
