it is fatty, but it is good fat. contains a lot of omega three fatty acids. as long as you don't overdo it, no problem with eating fish skin.

RE:
Is it healthy to eat the skin from fish, particulary salmon?
I was wondering if eating the skin from fish is as bad as eating the skin from chickens and pig. Is it fatty and unhealthy or the opposite?

Basically, the fat has a lot of good cholesterol (and if you already didn't know, yes, there is such a thing as good cholestorol) and omega-3 fatty acids. It's much more nutritious and healthy than other animal meats, which is why I have chosen to be pescatarian, though I would like to convert myself to becoming vegan. Fish is the best source of protein out there. Lean, and rich in nutrients you can't find anywhere else!

I eat the skin from salmon, when I've bbq'd it.
Tastes great and there are good bits in there!
It's not fatty like the other chicken/pork skin..

Well it might actually depend. Salmon that has fresh skin can be healthy for you. But if it's not fresh It can probably be bad for your body.

Fish skin contains omega three fatty acids and that is good for you. A certain amount of fat is necessary for cells. Studies on chicken fat has shown that it is good for the immune system.

The Environmental Protection Agency recommends removing skin and as much fat as possible prior to cooking fish.
There are many chemical pollutants in water these days. removing the skin and fat, minimizes your chances of ingesting the chemicals that these fish may be polluted with.
