It'll show up, but it won't hurt your chances at being hired. The people who read these results have been doing it for years and recognize the components of drugs like Tylenol and Ibuprofen.

Cold medicine will show up on a drug test -- ONLY if you have done a lot. It s okay, don t be worried. Worrying will just create more stress. Trust me, I been-there-done-that. I recently took a drug test. I don t do any drugs but caught a cold on a Sunday. I went to Walmart and bought 3 different kinds of cold medicines. The most I took is a 12oz bottle of Dayquil. In a 3 day span from Sunday - Tuesday I drank the whole bottle (I know it s bad but I did this within 3 days of a 14 hour shift per day) I also every night up until Wednesday night took Nightquil. I stopped taking medicine on Wednesday night. During Sunday - Wednesday I took Alka Seltzer day time about 3 times and another off brand over the counter med. On Friday I took my random just test. Well as of Tuesday, I found out I passed. So don t worry. Even if it gave a false positive they run a test with the GC/MS that will help identify false positives. There is hope if you are doing the right thing.

The only way to be guaranteed an honest test is to have an independent lab perform the test and you MUST tell them about any and all medications you are taking, including over the counter medications. Depending on the Lab, the reasons for the drug test and who is demanding it will determine how the results are interpreted. Be safe, and have an independent test done.

If I remember correctly, the only things that show up are the things that they ask for (typically, illegal drug use). If you are worried about it though, just ask them when you go in tomorrow. That way, if it does show up on the test, they will know what it is for. That's what I did on my last drug test as I was on an antibiotic at the time.

if you are competing in the Olympics, they will test for it. You would then need a doctor's note explaining the cold. If not in the Olympics, not too many people test for cold medicine, so don't stress it.

Depends what the drug test is for... if it is for narcotics, the cold meds won't be an issue...they haven't started putting meth in nyquil yet. However, if the test is for sports and they are screening for banned competition drugs, don't take it, several drugs in cold remedies are banned for competition.

They aren't testing for cold medicine. Even if it did show in a wide spectrum test, they don't care about it.

Years in the past, Sudafed (Pseudoephedrine) used to look useful in drug exams as Amphetamines, yet i'm incredibly useful the exams are greater state-of-the-artwork then that those days. they're might desire to be another reason you haven't any longer been contacted yet.
