Why are you so against Toyota racing in your series? Are you afraid of international competition? Why do you care anyway? Toyota sucks at NASCAR. And besides, even the American Le Mans Series has plenty of foreign AND American teams and cars? What is the reason that you are so afraid of another country wanting to get in the series to compete. Besides, most Toyotas are made in America anyway, and a lot of American cars are made in Canada and Mexico. So why are you so against competition which would make better competition in NASCAR? 10 points for some valid reasons.

I don't like Toyota in Nascar. Not because of tradition or because they are considered foreign. I don't like Toyota because of their history of invading racing series with unlimited funds to get what they want.

Toyota's goal is to win 25% of Nascar races and win a championship and they have already earmarked a Billion dollars toward that goal. They spent 200 million this year and are contributing over 100 million in equipment and personel to Gibbs for 2008 and this does not include whatever money they have negociated.

Thru Gibbs they have bought the latest Chevrolet technology. It is not a coincidence that the toyotas started running lots better a couple of weeks after the gibbs deal. Gibbs has supplied them with examples of winning chevrolet engines.

They will dominate and win their championship soon but will Nascar survive intact?

No ,I 'm not against Toyota racing in my series, Toyota is the only American made car in NASCAR. I really don't like Montoya ,so I guess I'm not for international competition. Because Montoya thinks he do whatever he wants on the race track and push people around, like Kevin Harvick. Well, that's in that kind of racing, as long as foreign people don't push around the American drivers, I like the Australia driver for the Busch series. I love Toyota! Toyota is awesome!! David Reutimann does great in a Toyota. He is going to do so great next year!!

First off, Toyota's aren't not made here in America, they
are assembled here. Most of the parts come from
Japan. And yes American cars do have lots of parts
made in Canada and Mexico, but most are also assembled
here. Another thing is that the profits from Toyota's go to
Japan. At least the profits from American cars stay here.
And then of course there is tradition. American cars with
American drivers on American tracks. And you can't say
that Toyota sucks at NASCAR, it's their first year, they didn't
expect to do great right out of the box. But give them time
and they just might dominate the sport. If that happens then
it just might be the end of NASCAR

The uses of Toyota and holdong races in Mexico and Canada seems to move away from the roots of Stockcar racing. However there has to be growth and this is the the method of growth in the sport.
Sure the purist, and I am one, would prefer to keep NASCAR with Fords,Dodge,Chevy. We would like to keep NASCAR on the Original tracks but again the popularity is such that the sport must grow.
Will I stop watching?No.
Will I stop going to races? No.
Growth is positive and helps the sport.

I'm not against racing anything, and i'm a technician.Take away the name and the body of the car and just strip it down to it's operating components, and all the machines are made out of metals with different specifications. The cars aren't the manufacturers versions and are high performance machines built by technicians. It's not like the old days when they were more representative of the the actual manufacturer. Now the race cars represent the technicians who work for the the team that the car is owned. Some teams do a better job than others. Some teams have better technicians. Currently I believe Chevrolet has the better technicians. The beautiful thing about todays racing componentry is that's it's so aftermarket that only the most intelligent technicians will be able to apply the theorys of automotive technology, and use advanced technologies, to build a better car. And most of these applications are beyond manufacturers specifications.

Tradition more than anything else I suppose....

But saying that Toyota sucks, I think, is actually going to turn out wrong.
When Toyota started in the "Craftsmen Truck Series" they were way behind also, but now they dominate....
I think that next year, you will see a sizable leap forward in the competition level of the Toyota's in the Cup races.....

We'll just have to wait and see......
Have a great day......

I think part of it is the old cars that made the sport. They used to be cool.
Let's face it, Camry's are not cool cars and never were. I'm not saying the new Impala is the best design ever but atleast there is some history of Muscle/coolness there.
Toyota needs to put some *alls on the street to impress me.
Even something with a V8 on one of there RWD Lexus platforms but a tad bigger would be neat.

I don't know why, I guess people were worried that Toyota would dominate the sport. But I don''t know. For my self, I am a Toyota fan and cheer for them at every race, especially Michael Waltrip Racing because Michael Waltrip is my favorite driver and has been ever since 2004.

I have no problems with Toyota in our series! In fact I think that Toyota will come out dominating next year with the Gibbs Racing Teams behind the wheels!

Check it out! Gibbs has Tony Stewart, Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch ready to pounce in the seats in '08! Here are three of the most talented drivers and Gibbs is brave enough to show how talented not only the drivers are, but how good their crews are by taking on a new manufacturer in the Cup Series!

(GO TONY GO!!!!)
