How can they when the Bible condemns all that is not "normal" or "traditional".
Those of you who say are tolerant and understanding of other lifestyles, what do you say about those who hold up signs in traffic saying
"God Hates Fags"
or tell their children to hold them up. To those that hurt others and go to church the next day not feeling guilt, but a sense of accomplishment.

I see religious groups debating with each other or with atheists everyday here. If you really do see yourself as tolerant and understanding even though your Bible sends so many people to hell, including all those who do not follow your religion, shouldnt there be better ways of teaching it?

First let me say that those people feel the way they feel and they have that right but don't base your opinion on every Christian on them please we are all different and people. We have the same God, who does happen to hate that act but not the person He loves each of us the same. But He also gives us the choice to live how we want and I can only say what the bible says to me I can't tell you what to believe your not going to change what you believe anyway are you but I should tell you how I believe if you ask. So if that is how you feel my friend why are you coming to the religious and spirituality sight on y and a all the time.
I tend to think that alot of us are very tolerant. No I don't believe in homosexuality or bi sexualaity or rape or murder or glutteny or hate or beastiality, liars, sex before marriage or worshipping any other God than my Father but that doesn't make me intolerant. It just means that I believe the bible as I read it. I love everyone the same and I have my own struggles with things that the bible speaks against I am no ones judge or jury that is up to my Father not me we are suppose to love everyone and if you have no religion spirituality or faith of anykind why do you come here? I'll tell you why to hear the truth GOD SENT YOU HERE TO LEARN THE TRUTH come on in sit down and read some of the Christians responses you will know us by our words of love if they are not words of love then they are not from a Christian. I bet you will be back again sometime this week to read more because God is reaching people through this site believe it or not.... God Bless You my friend It's good to have you!

However it is as a Christian our job to preach the word of God or to spread the word of God and if someone were to ask me what God thinks of any sin I am going to tell them what the biblw says but I would also back it up

Christianity is tolerance. Human idiocy and stupidity (basically people not doing what they preach) is the problem. There are many christian faiths that does as it says.
Yes, homosexuality was not natural. But just because it's not natural doesn't mean we have to condemn people who are. Jesus Christ our God embraced sinners, outsiders (Samaritans who really didn't do anything wrong, but were born into the wrong race) and walk by them until they healed/ loved/secure whatever they needed. That's were our mouths should be and our feet.
The Catholic church for example, believes that all major religious beliefs are partially true. We have to embrace, but understand where everyone else stands. The guys on the street yelling "God will save you, but you are a sinner." Well those people I just want to walk up a punch and say "Satan sent you to drive the people away from God!" But I don't do it just because I'm better then them and so are you.

First of all, the people who hold up "God hates Fags" signs should not be associated with everyone else in the religion. Just because one group of Christians rubs you the wrong way doesn't mean you should treat others in the same resentment.

Secondly, you really need to research before you make these claims. The Holy Bible does not send everyone to hell who does not follow Christianity. In the end, people are judged by how they have lived their life. Not following Christianity isn't a one way ticket to Hell. Christianity is supposed to be a very tolerant religion. You are confusing it with the extremists in this country.

Christianity is based on a peaceful, coexistent lifestyle. All we are required to do is try to plant a seed in another's life, and then it is no longer on our shoulders. The Bible does not command Christians to shove their religion down someone else's throat. Christians are supposed to love thy neighbor as they love themself, regardless of their sex, race, religion, or sexual orientation.

"Those of you who say are tolerant and understanding of other lifestyles, what do you say about those who hold up signs in traffic saying "God Hates Fags""

why are christians always asked to speak on behalf of everyone else?

People can wave any flag over any action.

For those of you who say America is a tolerant and understanding nation, what do you say about those that hang nooses on people's doors. Or tell their children other races are inferior.

I see Americans debating all the time over here. If you really do see America as a tolerant and understanding nation even though it has passed laws that condemn and discriminate against blacks, including all those who aren't white, shouldn't there be better ways of showing it?

Well, don't blame the Christians for everything. The commandment "Thou shalt not sleep with man as you would with women" comes from Leviticus. God doesn't hate "fags" any more than he would hate any other sinner, but God leaves it up to the person to decide how to live with it. Moreover, the Bible doesn't "send" people to hell; it merely indicates that this could be their fate in the "world to come". In the Old Testament, the only people sent to hell, so to speak, are Korach and his sidekicks, who challenge the authority of Moses and have a showdown with him (Numbers). And they are sent to "Shoel", which is in the Old Testament has no well-defined features as the Christian hell does (which is more due to Dante than to anyone else).

Maybe your question could be better phrased as "Will intolerant Fags stop blaming everything on Christians and their Bible?"

Most Christians know that God loves "Fags". He wants them to follow His commandments, however, and that means no sex outside of marriage. God instituted the sacrament of marriage between one man and one woman for two reasons. First, to deepen the love of the man and woman, and second, to procreate offspring and provide a stable life for them as they grow up. Both reasons must be present. For a much deeper, yet accessible explanation, search "The Theology of the Body" and see what you find. (The Theology of the Body is a reflection on human sexuality by Pope John Paul II.) If you search, look for anything by Christopher West. He has devoted his life to explaining the pope's teaching and does so in a very clear manner.

I dont know dude, the Bible doesnt send ppl to hell, nobody does but yourself who dont believe.
who says Christians have to be tolerant? Just because we are supposed to be kind and loving doesnt mean we have to be tolerant. We believe that our religion is the truth and others are not.
Those who hold up signs in traffic...thats not right, christian or not. if they are christian then, they should really look at themselves and see if that really is Christ-like.
However, not being tolerant doesnt mean we go kill ppl for it (like radical muslims)

This is a discussion forum and you may not always get clear cut answers here. There are gifted teachers that can explain the christian faith professionally. You must remember that people are growing in their faith and will ask questions. To condemn a precious faith system because of some abuses does not make sense. Satan uses all kinds of people to try and defame God's love. The bible says his time is short and he is in great wrath. He is behind the abuses that you see. Just forgive them and pray for them. They need instruction too.

I tolerate many practices, lifestyles and people. My religion tells me what many of them do is wrong. I don't do those things because of that. I don't judge anyone and don't expect to be judged. I believe God will judge all of us for our sins. If you don't believe that, fine. Why does my belief that certain activities are wrong for me and my family disturb you? I do nothing to these people. I just think that what they do is wrong for me to do. I would think that is the definition of tolerance. EVERYBODY has certain activities which they define as wrong which other people think is OK. Aren't you being intolerant saying these bigoted things about my faith?

I'm so glad you commented; you are right. Jesus hates all that picketing and arguing and bickering; it is completely unloving, ungodly, and disgraceful.
If Jesus wanted us to picket He would have done that when He walked the earth; but no what did He do? I love Jesus. The Pharisees came to Jesus with the woman caught in adultery; they wanted to stone her as was the law; they asked Jesus for a response; He said "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." They dropped their stones, the older ones first. He told her; "is there no one here to condemn you?" No she said. "Then neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more."
The Bible says that the Pharisees do not enter life nor do they allow others to enter in. They badger and push people away from the faith; there is no love in the approach but only condemnation. Jesus said in John 3:17 "I came not to condemn the world, but to save it."
I was a homosexual for 11 yrs. of my life; Jesus delivered me; not by pointing out scriptures to me; not by convicting me of my sin; but by loving me, so gently, tenderly, pulling at my conscience year after year. He never gave up on me. He loves us. He knows our hearts. Jesus is greater than there are words for. His love is unmatchable. He sees us like no one else does. He knows what we can become in Him.
The Bible forbids arguing and disputing over the scriptures which is what people are doing when they divide churches and break up into groups. It's all ungodly and destructive.
It should be said that Phariseeism is not Christianity. Christianity is Christ crucified to pay for the sins of the world.
We accept Him by faith as Savior and Lord, He comes to live in our hearts, and He changes us. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have everlasting life."
